Torture Picks A #1 Contender
We come back to a sold out arena in Sacramento, California and the crowd erupts when Kings of Leon hits and Torture makes his way through the curtain!
Billy: WHAT A HOMECOMING FOR TORTURE!!
Chris Avery: Torture grew up just south of Sacramento for his entire childhood! It's Homecoming WEEK for Torture, don't forget this Sunday is Uprising from Los Angeles where Torture now has called home for over 20 years!
Billy: Torture is choosing a #1 contender for this Sunday against World Champion Carter Shaw!
Torture gets into the ring and grabs a microphone from the beautiful pregnant Adilene Floyd. He winks at her and begins.
Torture: Oh DAMN does it feel good to be back HOME!
The crowd cheers and raves as he smiles. We see a wider shot of him smiling with his hometown fans.
Torture: Are you guys ready for me to announ-
Familiar music hits, but it ain't a challenger.. it's the World Champion Carter Shaw.
The crowd boos as Torture turns to the stage.
Billy: The World Champion is IN the house!
Shaw walks down the ramp with his Championship belt never taking his eyes off Torture. Shaw gets into the ring and stands next to Torture smiling as Torture finally gets to continue.
Torture: I'd like to welcome each of the previous #1 contenders that my son, strangely, made prior to this week!
The lights fade as Soldier Dream hits over the PA. A hulking silhouette steps onto the stage, backlit as he parts the curtain. A blast of pyro reveals the shadow as Dune himself, his eyes set on the ring as he starts down the aisle. The crowd is erupting as a dozen security members begin to surround Dune as he walks around the ring but stays on the outside.
Billy: Dune defeated Odin at Tokyo Fite after returning to Action Wrestling at Evolution IV!
Chris Avery: Look at all these security guards! There is more coming!
The haunting intro to "The Warmth" by Incubus is met with an electric pop as the arena lights partially dim. As the bass and drums kick in, QDT ventures assuredly out onto the entranceway, hand in hand with his fiancé Jenna Bauer. There's some scattered boos for her but they are overpowered by the love for him.
Billy: QDT defeated James Nightingale at Tokyo Fite and escaped harms way! Jenna might be gon' crazy but QDT is very much adored by these fans!
“With Oden On Our Side” Hit’s the PA system. The arena grows dark as the fans get to their feet to catch a glimpse of the stage. The fans stand and cheer an once the vocals starts, the arena lights flash back on and there stands Odin Balfore, centre stage. Odin stares down at the ring with a sinister grin as the fans sing along with the chorus.
Chris Avery: Here comes former World Champion, former United States Champion, Odin Balfore! This big man has a point! He believes the ref fast counted and he kicked out right after! Whether it's correct or not, he was in the World title match until Torture declined it last week!
Odin is on one side of the ring as Dune is on the other. Security guards surrounding both of them. QDT is in the ring in the corner as Jenna is on the outside. Torture is in the middle of the ring with Carter Shaw who is holding his Championship tight on his shoulder.
The arena lights go dark as the opening piano lick of Will Wood's "Greetings from Mary Bell Township!" hits the speakers, the ActionTron flickering to life with a collection of letters and shapes converging until they meet in the center of the screen. The letters and shapes form into the Philidor Holdings logo as the sound of the doorbell hits, and the boos almost drown out the doo-wop riff. As the first verse comes in, Ash Blake emerges from behind the curtain and begins making her way down the ramp.
Billy: Ash Blake was the World Champion this year as well! She defeated Corey Black, survived an Elimination Chamber, but lost the title to Carter Shaw at Evolution IV when he pinned Spencer Adams! Ash Blake, Carter Shaw, Philidor Holdings all have some sort of weird drama going on!
Chris Avery: Either way, who is to say she doesn't belong as #1 contender?!
Ash gets into the ring which makes Carter Shaw super uneasy. Ash smiles as she stands in the corner closest to him.
The lights in the arena fade slowly to black. A booming voice echoes throughout, the beginning of "Omerta" by Lamb of God plays.
"Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.
Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both.
For a wounded man will shall say to his assailant.
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honor."
The crowd picked up the lyrics and has began shouting them at the top of their lungs as the song kicks in.. Corey Black emerges through the curtain and the KING stands on the stage.
Security now surrounding the ring, Dune, Odin, QDT, Ash, Shaw, Torture, and some more just follow Black from behind the curtain and separate Corey Black from the rest of them on the ramp. Black continues shoving through them slowly to get to the ring. He stops at the bottom of the ramp where Odin and Black are near each other. Guards surrounding both of them separating them from each other.
Billy: The KING had a title shot at THIRTEEN a week and a half ago but came up short!
Chris Avery: Thanks to Peter Garvey though! Shaw has had some pretty interesting help thanks to Garvey!
Thick bass fills the arena as a mock illustration of Mt. Rushmore comes on screen, one face added after another with each of them being Spencer's. No. 99 by Joey BadA$$ starts playing throughout the arena and we get a shot of Spencer Adams marching through winding backstage halls, his eyes focused straight ahead.
He's stopped right in the middle of the ramp as now another handful of security guards stop him.
Billy: OH man! There has to be almost 60 security guards separating everyone out here!
Chris Avery: Spencer is half way up the ramp! Odin and Black are at the bottom! QDT is in the ring! Shaw is in the ring by Ash Blake! Dune is right here in front of us! What a scene!
Torture pushes the microphone up.
Torture: Now, I'm glad you're all here. I know that everyone wants to be #1 contender but lets face it. We can't do that. And this isn't about protecting Philidor.
Torture looks at Shaw and Ash.
Torture: I used your company to bankroll the biggest show in Japan of all time. Thanks for that.
He winks and smiles as Ash and Shaw roll their eyes.
Shaw cuts off Torture with a microphone.. The crowd BOOOOOS
Carter Shaw: Who you gonna pick, Torture!? Just get to it already!
The crowd boos.
Carter Shaw: Is it Ash Blake? The world doesn’t deserve an All-Philidor main event right now, as good as that would be for business. Besides, both Ms. Blake and I spoke earlier and we agreed that there are other areas of Action Wrestling she’d like to set her sights on.
Ash rolls her eyes.
Carter Shaw: Spencer Adams? I don’t know what he’s done lately to keep a hand in your pocket, Papa Tort, but damn...some people don’t even get rematches around here, meanwhile you’re gonna start losing ticket sales because the ending of Spencer Adams Vs Carter Shaw matches are becoming the equivalent of a leaked result. We know who is winning and we know what bitching excuses Spence here is gonna have afterwards.
The crowd boos as we see Spencers eyes light up.
Carter Shaw: QDT? The last thing Action Wrestling needs, from a business standpoint, is another concussion mess, especially with the amount of eyes that will be glued to this Uprising main event. QDT is too busy fighting himself to fight anybody else right now, he’s got a whole hell of alot of re-earning to do to deserve a spot at this table.
Crowd boos as we see QDT trying to step closer but the security team has everyone separated.
Carter Shaw: Odin freakin’ Balfore ...I mean, atleast he’s getting all the glory he could’ve ever wanted just standing in this ring with this much main event talent. It’s like the ole days. But in my book? The destruction of Walter does not outweigh the fact that this guy has been losing to the entire rest of the roster for the entirety of 2021, myself included.
Crowd boos as Odin tries inching closer as well.
Carter Shaw: And Dune?
Shaw looks down at Dune who is ready to snap everyone in front of him in half.
Shaw makes a grimacing face but turns his attention to Corey Black.
Carter Shaw: Corey Black. Mm. Look at him, clenching his fists, he wants to hit me so damn bad. He’s pushing in all his chips on the hopes and dreams of being given a World Title by someone other than himself. XIII was no illusion folks. He can cry screwjob all he wants, but he knows he deserved a nail for each hand. The stigmata he’s always wanted. Maybe we give someone else a chance for glory? Corey Black is a fantastic perennial #2 contender for the rest of time, though.
Crowd boos as Shaw cackles to himself.
Carter Shaw: So ya see, Torture I -
Torture: Shut up!
The crowd erupts into cheers as Shaw goes from cocky smile to frustrated and embrassed.
Torture: Back to what I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. Now, you see, I can't have all of you in my main event of Uprising because I know what you all want to do to each other! You want to rip each other apart! You want to cave in each others' skulls! You want to break limb after limb!
The crowd cheering as the intensity is now moving up a notch.
Torture: I can't afford to lose any of you, let alone all of you, BUT to minimize damage and maximize profits, I CAN, however, announce a ONE on ONE match with Carter Shaw defending his Championship against one of you.
The crowd slightly boos.
Torture: My #1 conte-
Pasternaks music hits. The crowd cheers as Pasternak comes through the curtain and his music is cut off and Pasternak has a microphone.
Alexander Pasternak: Wait.. wait just one minute, actually.
The crowd buzzes as Torture tips his head.
Torture: Son-
Alexander Pasternak: No, you need to listen.
Torture: I don't need to listen, I'm out here, I'M making this decision..
Pasternak is pushing through security and finally gets into the ring and fixes his suit and has his microphone.
Alexander Pasternak: You nee-
Torture: No, YOU need to stop. I gave you this decision to make a few weeks ago, and you didn't get it done so it's time I make the dec-
Alexander Pasternak: DAD, SHUT UP!
The crowd gasps as Torture stops and swallows his spit intensely. He stares into the eyes of his son. Everyone is a bit shocked that this just happened.
Alexander Pasternak: Just stop, please.
The crowd settles down as everyone else is trying to settle down.. but the wrestlers are starting to get antsy..
Alexander Pasternak: I need to tell you something as it just happened not more than 5 minutes ago..
Torture shrugs and is waving his hand like hurry up.
Alexander Pasternak: There reason there is so many security guards surrounding these superstars right now is that I went ahead and.. well, Dad, I pulled a trick from you.
The crowd buzzes.
Alexander Pasternak: You used to tell me all the stories about how Seth Lerch screwed up his own business and would block your every move so you'd find ways around it and you never took no for an answer. Well, let me tell you about this story. Before every superstar came through that curtain, I had them do one thing for me..
The crowd perks up..
Torture tilts his head and his eyes grow big.
Alexander Pasternak: They each signed a contract stating they were the rightful #1 contenders to the World Championship BECAUSE..!!
The crowd erupts..
Alexander Pasternak: AT UPRISING! CARTER SHAW YOU WILL BE DEFENDING YOUR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BELT IN..
The crowd takes a beat with Pasternak.. as he leans his head up and SHOUTS this match loud and proud!
Alexander Pasternak: A SEVEN!! WAY!! MATCH!!
The crowd erupts! Shaw is yelling about this!
Alexander Pasternak: AND SHAW I DONT EVEN WANT TO HEAR IT!! I DONT NEED YOUR SIGNATURE!! I JUST NEEDED THE SIGNATURES OF THESE SIX SUPERSTARS AND DAD.. I GOT IT DONE!
Pasternak has the folded up contract and throws it in the chest of Torture! He can't believe it!
QDT is laughing at Shaw and SHAW SHOVES QDT BACK!!
Billy: SHITFIRE!!
Chris Avery: OH NO!!
Ash grabs Shaw to turn him around but Shaw bumps her out of the way and she runs into Torture who runs into Pasternak!
They all look awkward as Dune is now getting into the ring and so is Odin!!
Billy: OH MY GOD!! ITS ABOUT..
Chris Avery: TO EXPLODE!!
Corey Black slides into the ring as security guards are being forced around everywhere as QDT and ASH BLAKE START TRADING PUNCHES!!
DUNE AND ODIN START TRADING PUNCHES!!
BLACK GETS INTO THE RING AS SPENCER GETS INTO THE RING AND THEY GRAB AT SHAW WHO SLIDES OUT OF THE RING THROUGH THE ROPES!!
Billy: ITS A SEVEN WAY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT UPRISING!!
Chris Avery: HOLY SHIT WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE!!
Billy takes his headset off as Chris helps him over the railing!! The announcers leave the ringside area!
Shaw is on the outside of the ring trying to get through security but Ash stops him! Ash and Shaw are talking trash and Corey Black is on the outside with Shaw too! He's in the middle AND BLACK HITS A RIGHT HAND ON SHAW!!
THE CROWD ERUPTS!! THE CHAMPIONSHIP BELT HITS THE GROUND AS SHAW IS TRYING TO FEND OFF BLACK AND ASH IS LAUGHING!!
IN THE RING ODIN AND DUNE ARE THROWING STRIKES AS QDT IS TRYING TO HELP SECURITY SEPARATE THE TWO!! JENNA IS IN THE RING AND SHE SHOVES A REF INTO QDT WHO BUMPS INTO ODIN AND DUNE!
NOW ALL THREE START BRAWLING!! JENNA CACKLES AS QDT, DUNE AND ODIN ARE BRAWLING!!
SPENCER IS YELLING AT BLACK TO GET SHAW FOR HIM AS SPENCER IS STUCK IN THE RING!
SHAW IS TRYING TO GET HIS CHAMPIONSHIP BELT OFF THE GROUND AS BLACK IS TEASING HIM WITH HIS FOOT ON IT! SHAW SHOVES BLACK OFF THE BELT AND PICKS UP THE BELT AND SHAW TURNS AROUND AND KNOCKS INTO ADILENE FLOYD!!
THE CROWD GASPS!! PREGNANT ADILENE FLOYD HITS THE GROUND!!
SHAW TURNS AROUND AND SPENCER IS A MAN OF FURY.. HE LEAPS OFF THE TOP ROPE AND CRASH LANDS ONTO COREY BLACK, ASH BLAKE AND CARTER SHAW!!
THE CROWD IS GOING CRAZY!!
MONDAY NIGHT CLASH IS FADING OFF THE AIR!!
TORTURE AND PASTERNAK ARE ARGUING ON THE RAMP NOW
ALL HELL HAS BROKEN FUCKING LOOSE!
SEVEN SUPERSTARS!
ONE PINFALL OR SUBMISSION!
THE BIGGEST PRIZE IN THE WORLD! THE AW CHAMPIONSHIP!
