Character Name: Paul Mall
Nickname: The Natural American Spirit
Hometown: Winston-Salem, NC
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 200 lbs.
Alignment: Face
In-Ring Style: High Flyer
Bio:
Paul spent most of his career as a journeyman, hitting various indie hotspots on the East Coast and slowly building himself up as a “to-get” for many big name promotions. For the longest time, however, he refused to travel by airplane as it usually created a window to where he couldn’t engage in his favorite activity. With the invention of the Juul, Paul was finally able to sneak puffs of precious nicotine in said airports, resulting in a more flexible travel schedule.
Until he set off the fire alarm in the lavatory of a 737, that is.
After paying a hefty fine, Paul was then subsequently banned from air travel. With the realization that his income would likely never reach great heights via pro wrestling again, Paul obtained his CDL and started a new career as a long haul trucker. Mostly content with his new gig (he could smoke all the cigarettes he wanted) Paul still missed the camaraderie of his pals breaking their backs in the grappling business. As he worked his way up the ladder of fictional major shipping company United States Express (USE), he then began to receive leverage in picking his own delivery routes. This meant that he could schedule his hauls to be at or near wrestling cards anytime he freaking wanted! What a convenient and completely coincidental stroke of luck!
Paul is generally a guy that everyone wants to be around despite constantly smelling like smoke. His role models in life are Oprah Winfrey, Richard Simmons, and Joe Dirt. He keeps things positive and keeps on truckin’.
Attire: Paul’s trunks look like a pack of Newports. White waist with “Paul” written on the front in the Newport font, and a small gold strip separates the remainder of the spandex with a horizon-lined green. The only deviation is found on his ass, which displays the Surgeon General’s warning in white. His boots and elbow pads are a solid white.
Theme song: “Rock me Amadeus" - Falco
Pic Base: Trent Beretta
Entrance:
A sound of a thumb flicking a lighter reverberates over the PA system as the lights dim to black. It is immediately followed by the synth of a recognizable 80's classic. At the entrance curtain, the formation of a silhouette can be seen: its only distinguishing characteristic is a cherry of a lit menthol near the head.
Ethan Miller: Making his way down to the ring, from Winston-Salem, North Carolina!
As "Rock me Amadeus" begins to pick up, the lights return to reveal the Surgeon General’s sworn enemy and the highway’s best friend taking a drag from the cancer stick and exhaling extravagantly.
Ethan Miller: Weighing in at 200 pounds, he is the Natural American Spirit...Paul Mall!
The trucker-slash-acrobat makes his way down the aisle with the cigarette in his mouth, making sure to criss-cross the barricades to slap the outstretched hands of the fans who give him a rousing ovation. As the AW crew have set out a courtesy tray for him at his corner, he pops the ash into it as he climbs into the ring. Scaling the turnbuckle for his obligatory “#1” gesture, Paul (still smoking) performs a back-flip off the ropes to further delight the audience.
