EPIC World Championship #1 Contender
Frank Lowe vs. Daniel Dream
Chaos immediately begins with Bridget Lewis-Killings in the studio with a big smile on her face as “EPIC” by Faith No More fades out in the background.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the first Chaos since REBIRTH where EPIC finally crowned our first World Champion and that man is the EPIC Original “Hungry” Jack Swanson! As you’re probably aware the champion was in no condition to celebrate after the cowardly attack by this new faction known as RI5EN. Tonight though we kick things off by finding out who will be the first to get a crack at “Hungry” Jack and the gold as “The EPIC Gamer” Daniel Dream and “The Lowe Hanger” Frank Lowe do battle with the winner being declared #1 Contender! Here we go…
Bridget turns and the screen behind her comes to life with clips from the match. Dream and Lowe traded moves early on with Lowe using his weight advantage to take over with a Scoop Powerslam. Not to be outdone though showed surprising strength of his own putting Frank on his shoulders and nailing him with a Cartwheel Death Valley Driver known as Do a Barrel Roll. Later in the match Daniel went for his Frogger Splash but Lowe got the knees up and with both men down the lights went out. When they came back on all five members of RI5EN were in the ring. Wyldeside was holding Daniel Dream while Frank Lowe had slipped out of the ring and was hiding by the stairs. Eli Hix was skipping around Dream in a circle while Wydleside held him. Hix stops in front of Dream who tries to fight free but Hix just laughs in his face. Suddenly Hix just hits a stiff Backhand Slap to the face of Dream splitting his lip, Hix then starts just slapping and slapping enraging “The EPIC Gamer”. Dream spits blood in the face of Hix which causes him to stop the slaps and Daniel yanks his arms free from the Wydle brothers before hitting a Superman 64 Punch that sends Hix over the top rope where he lands next to Frank who just throws his hands up indicating he wants no fight and begins backing up the ramp laughing as he sees Graham Baker almost decapitate Daniel with Clean the Blade as the fed goes back to Bridget.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: It appears Chaos is starting exactly how REBIRTH ended with RI5EN in the ring using the numbers to their advantage. It’s a shame to see Daniel Dream and Frank Lowe get their moment taken away. Lowe being who he is was able to escape the wrath of this pack of wild dogs but Daniel was not as lucky. Fortunately a slew of officials were able to drag the wounded former Violence Champion out of the ring before any further damage could be done. While the #1 Contender match was officially thrown out that doesn’t mean we don’t have a #1 Contender as you're about to see let’s take a look.
We Have RI5EN
As the chaos of the opening match comes to a close, Baker and RI5EN walk around the ring, the crowd hurling insults at them as Baker grabs a microphone from the ringside area. He shrugs.
Baker: Just the reception that I expected, walking into the arena after standing tall at REBIRTH, with the crowd hanging on my every word and breathing down my fuckin’ neck. The executives at Amazon were so kind as to demand that I, Graham Baker, The Aviator and your saving grace, get all the time that he’d ever need to explain his actions during the course of REBIRTH last weekend. So tell me, friends-who wants to hear why I did what I did?
The crowd boos in response, and Baker spins his finger around, letting them play to it, before he continues.
Baker: I killed Ryan Shane last week because Ryan Shane allowed me the opportunity to. He turned his back on me, and for a veteran of the ring so trained and revered like himself, he should know not to turn around in the presence of a man he’s repeatedly disrespected. I mean, I’m Graham Baker, people. I got my break into the mainstream part of this industry by sucker punching the ALPHA World Heavyweight Championship from Aaron Arkham’s grasp. I’m a concurrent six-time champion, although we’ll address one of those belts tonight. Ryan Shane accused me of being unworthy of being the partner of one of the most overstated nut-hangers in this business. Ryan Shane implied that Graham Baker was unworthy of any accolade he’d acquired, that he was second class. Ryan Shane stated that I was short for this world, and that I’d be gone before I could do anything worthwhile.
Baker pauses for a moment, letting his words hang in the air.
Baker: And where was Ryan Shane at the end of REBIRTH? Put through a table at the hands of RI5EN, a stable of men who are exhausted with being overlooked. With being passed over. We take what we want. Mav saw a Chaos Championship, he wanted it, and he took it. Wyldeside wanted more notoriety, and though we’ve already addressed their lack of success, they are still an integral piece in this business. And my man, Eli Hix, he wanted blood, he wanted a sniff of our friend Ryan Shane, and he damn well took that! But what does Graham Baker want, you might ask? What could Graham Baker desire? What is Graham Baker going to take?
Baker grabs the Silver Star Championship and holds it up in the air, glancing to it.
Baker: You see, JC Keeton was supposed to agree to our plans. JC Keeton was supposed to join us as EPIC World Champion. JC Keeton was supposed to be my right hand man, and he proved, as implied to me by my friend Mav, soft and weak. JC Keeton was unseeing of the bigger picture. JC Keeton was willing to let our friendship die for honor. So, I’m going to teach him the error of his ways, because if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my friendship with Mr. Keeton, it’s that you need to do things yourself if you want them done right.
Baker glances to the belt.
Baker: This is the CCW Silver Star Championship, and it’s a belt I hold near and dear to my heart. However, if this were CCW, God rest it, I absolutely would have enough coins to cash in on ol’ Hungry Jack’s world championship. So, this is me pouring my heart out to Robert Quinn and Analicia. I’m cashing in. Jack had the chance to face off against one of the fine gentlemen in this ring, and JC had the opportunity to take this spot...but he let us all down. I’m gonna make sure that I don’t. I’m gonna drive Hungry Jack’s skull into the fuckin’ canvas, and carve our name into the lexicon of EPIC.
Baker leans back on the ropes as RI5EN address the crowd. Ethan Wylde up first.
Ethan Wylde: Me and my brother understand now that we made a bad first impression on our new teammates by letting our southern pride keep us from takin’ advantage of the numbers that were offered to us at REBIRTH and let those spoiled brats The Dalmons get the better of us. That won’t happen again. You can rest assured that while EPIC ain’t got tag team belts for us to walk around with, WE are the premier tag team in EPIC and we’ll keep proving that against any team that wants to step up. Ain’t that right bro?
Lucas goes to bring the microphone to his lips but Eli Hix just casually snatches it from his hand.
Eli Hix: Tisk tisk tisk brothers Wylde. You had your turn, it’s mine now.
Lucas glares at Hix but Ethan puts a hand on his shoulder to calm him. Hix looks to Maverick nodding his head almost as if he’s asking permission to continue and Mav gives him a nod.
Eli Hix: Dear sweet Rose, tonight you are nothing more than bait in a trap that I’ve set and by having the audacity to request a match against me you caused my grand plan to move at a much faster pace than expected. I hope Daddy is watching when I mangle his precious little girl like she was shoved head first into a woodchipper. It’s going to be so much FUN!
Maverick calmly walks up to Hix, motioning for the microphone, to which Eli gives without hesitation. The young champion is met with a chorus of jeers and boos from the crowd which brings about a smirk from Mav before he speaks.
Maverick: Damn, I didn’t even get started and you guys are already going off? Man, you must really love me.
The champion is met with more hatred from the fans which gets a laugh out of him. He finally lets up and continues, making sure his words are heard over the hot crowd.
Maverick: Now while my RI5EN brethren were so kind enough to cover the true highlights of what transpired at REBIRTH and what will happen tonight, with Hix defeating Celina and my successful defense, I will shine the light on the grim fate of EPIC’s future. I’m sure you all have it in your collectively peanut sized minds that this will end like every other redesigned fairytale where the bad guys get what’s coming to them, but unfortunately for you, this will play out like the true stories. Time will run out on all those who try to stop us and just like the heartbroken mermaid with no tongue, their relevance will dissolve into sea foam as we continue our dominance. Don’t get me wrong, I do applaud the valiant hearts, but they are all simple-minded in their approach and that, along with their unwillingness to do what actually needs to be done to succeed, will be their downfall. The five of us, we left our good consciences at the door in favor of our drive, in favor of glory and no matter what anybody tries, we will not fall. Graham Baker is the next EPIC World Champion whether you like it or not, just as I am….
Maverick pauses a moment looking down and lifting his shirt to reveal a rather different looking title. He unclasps it with his free hand and raises it up for all to see.
Maverick: I am your ELITE Champion! Sorry to all the fuckfaces who bow to the history of this company but I refuse to lower myself to the title of a Chaos Champion. I know my worth and compared to the rest, I am the elite. Also I ran by the proper channels and got this approved so Robert Quinn and the other suits can kiss my ass! However, that’s enough banter, you’ve heard our message, now we turn word into action. Cry as your beloveds continue to crumble for we have RI5EN.
Maverick tosses the microphone out the ring, slinging his championship over his right shoulder as the group make their exit to another rousing chorus of boos.
JC Keeton, bag over his shoulder, marches through the parking lot towards the entrance of the Chaos Complex. Not even a hint of a smile is present on the face of the second generation star when Dr. Gregor Ausfhart flanked by a team of security guards begins fast walking towards him with a clipboard in hand. As they get closer JC looks even angrier and the approaching group notices this and one of the members of security sporting an extremely cocky demeanor just says, “Don’t worry Doc, I got this!” and steps between JC and Ausfhart. Without hesitation JC throws down his bag, wraps up the cocky rent-a-cop and drops him on the back of his head on the pavement with a Cutthroat Saito Suplex. The rest of the security team surround Keeton as he begins shouting at the shady physician.
JC Keeton: Where’s your tranq gun at you fuckin’ quack? You’re gonna need it again tonight cause I’m getting my hands on Baker…
Ausfhart, a wall of men between him and JC just laughs.
Dr. Ausfhart: I’m afraid I can’t let you in the building Mr. Keeton. I have the results of your post REBIRTH evaluation by my team and you have multiple injuries that could have you out of the ring for well over a month.
JC Keeton: Bullshit! I've wrestled since then and I'm sure Action Wrestling has far more trustworthy doctors than you.
JC steps towards the doctor but is pushed back by the security. He throws his hands up.
JC Keeton: Who paid you for your “evaluation” huh? Baker? Analicia? Quinn?
Dr. Ausfhart fakes outrage at the accusation.
Dr. Ausfhart: How dare you accuse me of taking a bribe. I am a respectable physician looking out for the well being of the wrestlers in EPIC.
JC Keeton: You’re full of it…
One by one JC takes out the remaining security guards till they're all down, Ausfhart tries to run but JC snatches him by the collar of his shirt causing him to drop the clipboard. Now nose to nose with the slimey German doctor JC is about to lay him out when a familiar voice stops him in his tracks.
??: I wouldn’t do that if I were you child. You wouldn’t want there to be even more time added to your medical suspension as a more serious one for harming one of our medical officials, along with a possible lawsuit, would you?
Taking a few steps until standing next to Dr. Ausfhart, the camera reveals the voice belonging to the co-owner of EPIC, Analicia Morales-Connors who doesn’t look the least bit pleased at the sight before her.
JC Keeton: Medical suspension? I had given in to the fact I wasn't gonna get in tonight but how long are we talking? I know you're protecting Baker, he's been in your back pocket since CCW.
Analicia Morales-Connors: Being that I’m professional, unlike you, I’m going to ignore your childish accusation. Although I will make a point of this, if it weren’t for me defending you, you wouldn’t have a place of employment here so if I were you, I’d be more grateful. Now as far as your medical evaluation, the doctor noted that some of your scarring isn’t healing properly and to avoid risk of infection it was recommended that you sit out three weeks. However, now that you’ve threatened bodily harm on the good doctor here and assaulted security, I’m afraid I have no choice but to double that.
JC inhales deeply trying not to let his temper get the best of him.
JC Keeton: Do what you gotta do, but tell Graham that I'll be back eventually and he better have eyes in the back of his fucking head…
JC turns and walks away taking his cell phone out of his pocket once he's out of earshot of Ana and dialing a number.
JC Keeton: Hey Ali, I need a favor…
Eli Hix vs. Celina del Añil
Bridget Lewis-Killings: It appears we won't be seeing JC Keeton in an EPIC ring for the foreseeable future. One of the five men who took him out at REBIRTH, Eli Hix, faces off in a Violence Rules match with Celina del Añil who actually made this challenge to The Human Horror Story which he gleefully accepted. While you have to applaud the guts of this young lady this guy is off his rocker and quite frankly the most frightening individual on the EPIC roster. Here's how the match went down.
The screen behind Bridget comes to live showing both wrestlers entrances with Celina making her way out with a timid smile. Hix meanwhile was all smiles as he made his way out with a large piece of plywood on his back. The board had been sectioned off in thirds with glass shards glued to one section, then barbed wire in the middle and finally to the rookies horror mouse traps glued to the final area. Hix slid the board into the ring then rolled under himself. Eli's horrific homemade contraption would thankfully not play a factor in the early going as Celina's superior technical skills and training surprisingly allowed her to dominate the first half of the match. She mixed in a vast array of strikes with a Rolling Cutter and scored a near fall after Caída de Actitud (Snapmare Driver). The difference in actual wrestling skill was apparent but it wasn't until Celina showed a vicious side hitting F-Y-F (Arm Trap Curb Stomps) repeatedly driving Eli's face into the glass covered section of plywood absolutely shredding his face that the beast within Hix was awakened. After kicking out of her pin attempt following the stomps he sat up his face absolutely pouring blood and smiled wide which seemed to break Celina as she scooted towards the corner. From there Eli smashed her with a Cannonball, drug her to her feet by her hair and placed her over the barbed wire section of board and Power Bombed her on to it. She fought back however as blood ran down her back earning a huge ovation from the crowd for the heart she was showing and had Hix not been slippery from blood could have finished it with a Bow and Arrow Lock but she lost her grip. The end came when Hix countered Angelic Tribute (Snap Single Underhook DDT) with his Triple Northern Lights Suplex, the final one landing on the board snapping the mouse traps. He held on for the pin to pick up the win.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While the records will show that Eli Hix scored the win in a brutal and bloody 31 minute 18 second match if there's such a thing as a moral victory Celina del Añil was the real winner. Things didn't end there though as you're about to see.
A Father's Rage
A victorious Eli Hix celebrates his win over Celina by crouching in a corner and staring at her creepily, his head cocked to the side and a sinister grin on his face when the fans start booing as Wyldeside runs down the ramp, clearly intent on beating down Celina. Hix stands up from his crouch and starts yelling at them, pointing back up the ramp, telling them to get lost in no uncertain terms. Wyldeside, looking bewildered, turn around and sulk back up the ramp... Only to be met with a double arm clothesline from a furious Drake Connors that blasts them to the ground!
The fans pop loudly as the man stares at Hix, who has a strange grin on his face, as Drake begins to walk down the ramp. A mixed reaction as Maverick steps out from the gorilla position and steps in front of his father, putting a hand on Drake's chest to stop him, speaking very softly to Drake. Drake looks at his son for a moment before nodding, turning and walking back up the ramp. Before going behind the curtain though, Drake points the infamous finger gun at Eli Hix, and drops his thumb like a hammer as the crowd shouts "BANG! You're dead!" for him. Hix' grin, if anything, grows wider. He nods at Drake, then turns away as Mav enters the ring to check on his sister. It seems there was a message passed here by Hix, but only Hix, and perhaps God, knew what it was...
The Soft & The Salty
The camera cuts backstage where Muru is seen leaning up against one of the corridor walls. Although he is scheduled for action, he is still dressed to compete. The one noticeable difference is the set of stitches on his head, a result of the attack by RI5EN. That’s the sort of thing that happens when disturbed persons like Eli Hix have access to a steel chair.
Muru: I thought he’d be here by now…
He looks back and forth past the EPIC employees going about their business. It doesn’t take very long for him to spot the one he is looking for. It’s Ryan Shane who is displaying his own battle scars from the attack. He's dressed in a blue suit and is carrying a steel chair. He's prepared just in case anyone wants to try their luck again.
Muru: Alright Ryan, what's so important that you wanted to meet with me?
Ryan Shane: Do you even need to ask Moo? This is about revenge. This is about letting those rat bastards of RI5EN know they messed with the wrong people.
Shane lifts the chair and slams it against the wall.
Ryan Shane: That's what's in store if I see any of those guys. Don't worry we'll find you one.
Muru: I know you're pissed off. I don't blame you. I just don't think going the revenge route is the path for me.
This statement leaves Ryan Shane a bit confused.
Ryan Shane: If anyone should want revenge it's you. That little kid made a fool out of you. If you're not going to do it, I'll beat his ass for you.
Muru: I think he's just confused. He's young and impressionable. I don't think he's a bad kid. I just need a chance to talk to him.
All Ryan can do is roll his eyes.
Ryan Shane: You're getting soft old man. I'll let you do your thing but I'll be watching. I've got some other people I need to talk to. RI5EN aren't the only people that have some explaining to do.
Shane walks off, dented chair in hand. The camera then cuts away with Muru leaning against the wall.
Frank Lowe Does Things On His Time
Backstage, a camera finds Frank Lowe walking down a hallway toward his locker room. Bridget scurries up behind Frank with a microphone and stops him just as he was turning the knob to his locker room.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Frank! Frank! Can I get a word with you? What happened at the end of your match?
Frank’s attention whips around and his brow furrows in annoyance and anger.
Frank Lowe: Ughhhh. Get out of my face, Bridget.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: But Frank, your match was interrupted by an attack perpetrated by the group led by Graham Baker, and you ran away! I just want to know why you left Dream to the wolves.
Frank smirks, recognizing Bridget’s obvious attempt to bait him into the interview.
Frank Lowe: Bridget, you want to talk so bad? Fine. Here you go… I left Dream to fend for himself, because I don’t owe him shit and I don’t have anything against Baker or Hix or Wyldeside. As far as I’m concerned? Those guys are alright.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: And what about the status of the #1 Contender to the EPIC World Championship?
Frank Lowe: I’ll tell you what, Bridget… I’ll go out to the ring later and you can hear anything else I have to say when the rest of the world hears it.
Frank cranks the knob to his locker room door and disappears inside. Bridget turns to look in the camera and, shaking her head, speaks.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Well, it looks like we’ve yet to hear the end of Frank Lowe tonight. I’m sure I speak for all of EPIC when I say that we wait on baited breath for whatever kernels of brilliance Frank will bring us later.
Terra Mason vs. Chiaki Kodaka
Bridget Lewis-Killings: For now I’ll keep my thoughts to myself but moving on with the show, our next match features two stars looking to get back to winning ways. At REBIRTH, Terra Mason was cheated out of victory by the hook of the tights and Chiaki lost her chance to be a part of the show. Which one of these two ladies will find themselves getting back on track? Let’s take a look and see.
Directing the attention over to the monitor, the feed switches over to ringside, showcasing the match highlights. Both women start the match up with a display of their speed, neither being able to catch the other in a move. The crowd shows their appreciation for the display. Terra soon takes control of the match though, using her wits to finally trip up the young Chiaki, not letting up once she does. She gains a few close falls with a Wheelbarrow Stunner and Reverse STO, but Chiaki hangs on, which impresses Mason. As Terra grabs hold of Kodaka, looking to finish her off, she’s surprised with a European Clutch for a near fall. This causes Terra to quickly snap, her cheeky smile shifting to a more distant one as she cuts off the speedy youngster with a wicked knee to the side of her head before locking in the Kupo-Klutch (Gargano Escape), Chiaki having no choice but to tap after being in the hold for a while. Terra, as if not hearing the bell, keeps the hold locked in until the official pulls her off, to which she looks a little confused before celebrating her win, the feed cutting back to Bridget in the studio.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While still seeming a bit off, much as she did last week, you can’t deny the impressive win there by Terra Mason. She gets the submission victory over Chiaki at the 5 minute and 54 second mark.
El Diablo Blanco pulled into the parking lot of the Chaos Complex in his Ford Escape. As El D grabs his bags and Violence Title, he turns to make his way inside when an all too familiar face, The Taco Bell Executive, makes his presence felt in the parking lot.
El Diablo Blanco: Not now, Brother. Say, are you guys just waiting out here for me to arrive each week?
Taco Bell Executive: We need to talk.
El Diablo Blanco: We will, Brother. I swear to it. Let me at least put my bags down.
Taco Bell Executive: You didn’t listen to me last week. You were supposed to throw the match. I told you there were going to be consequences. We can’t have you risking our intellectual property.
El Diablo Blanco: Intellectual Property?!
Taco Bell Executive: There are certain rights that you signed over to us when you signed that sponsorship deal. We may not own your look or your name but what you do in that ring directly goes against the hazard agreement. Now, I can go ahead and rip up this contract right now. Your deal will be void and you’ll owe back what you were already given. What say you?
El Diablo Blanco: Are you threatening me, Brother?
It’s at that moment that the executive notices the camera.
Taco Bell Executive: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Taco Bell does not threaten people, El D. We need to just let cooler heads prevail. Listen, we just need to speak with you regarding what happened last week. And let’s just say the higher ups weren’t so happy about our discussion being recorded last week. Come with us.
El Diablo Blanco: Us?
Just then, four more men in black suits and sunglasses appear from behind different pillars in the parking lot. El Diablo realizes they mean business and just follows the executive inside the building as the four men follow suit.
Ready To Go
The show’s feed switches over to the backstage area once again, this time showing the trainer and medical personnel room. There we see Xiuhua ‘Dizzie’ Zhou and Dr. Blücher Dinglenüt, the one everybody likes, mid-conversation as the good doctor is taking a look at Dizzie’s wounds from her battle with Drake at REBIRTH.
Dr. Dinglenüt: Yes, yes, this is very good indeed. Everything seems to be healing up beautifully and I can easily say that if this continues, you will be cleared to compete for next week’s show.
Dizzie: Wait, hold up. Next week? Look doc, I ain’t the type to sit back ever. You sure there’s no way I can compete tonight?
Dr. Dinglenüt: Unfortunately no Ms. Zhou. While you are healing at a quicker pace than normal, I still can't in good conscience have you risk complications with the scar tissue. I will take a look at you again next week and we’ll see if you can get back in the ring then.
Clearly frustrated, Dizzie goes to speak again but stops herself, trying her best to be calm. Just as she finds the words to say, the room door opens, causing her to turn and square up on instinct.
Ryan Shane: From that reaction it seems you are aware of the attacks that have been happening. Don't worry if I was going to hurt you I'd let you know.
As he stands there in his suit he makes sure to show off the dented steel chair he's holding.
Ryan Shane: As you can see, I was able to make it to Chaos this week. JC wasn't so lucky. I know you're the lady in his life, and I respect that. The problem is...when it comes to this business, you're a distraction. If he could have been more focused, then maybe he would have seen that Baker was up to no good. If you really cared about him, maybe you could have been at his side fighting with him.
Dizzie looks at Shane, taking in a breath before letting out a single laugh.
Dizzie: You serious in looking to spin this one out on me huh? That’s funny because the way I see things, in this business my man and I got two different careers that we respect. Do we help each other train? Yeah, but soon as we step through the doors we go our ways. Now when it comes to Baker, he had his thoughts which he expressed but I always respected his word. I’m not sure if you knew since you got a couple splinters in your elbow but I went through a glass cell exploding mine deathmatch that went over an hour so I kinda couldn’t be there as much as I wish I was. However….
Dizzie takes a step closer to Shane, the look in her eyes growing more intense.
Dizzie: I’m here right now and while doc said I gotta wait a week to step back into the ring, I’m willing and ready to settle this if you got a problem. Just like you, I ain’t a bitch that hits from behind. So you wanna go or what?
Ryan Shane: Do I want to go? You're kidding right? We wouldn't want you to go against doctor's orders, plus I don't think JC would like me hurting you. Unlike yourself I have his best interest in mind. If you did you wouldn't have put yourself in that match. Why should he pay for your self gratification? If you're his girl then that doesn't stop just because you think you're on his level.
Dizzie: You think I’m just gonna stand here and let you say shit like that? Of course I got his best interest at heart. That’s why despite needing rest and other dumb shit doctors said, I was up with him all night letting him vent, I took time away to make sure he was able to pick his head back up and I’m the one that he’s gonna always turn to when the lights go out just like I turn to him. You may care about him but going after others who do too ain’t doing nothing but hurting him! I don’t have to think I’m on his level because I know I am. We treat each other as equals in every way, in and out the ring. We both look to make a name for ourselves in this business and know we’ll both do everything it takes. Relationships are built as a partnership, with love, trust, and respect just to name a few things. He respects my career choices as I do his. We ain’t always gonna like it but that’s what compromise is, which is another thing relationships are built on. Now if you ain’t gonna actually step up to me, back up now or else I will get things started. I fear no one and nothing, let’s go.
Shane shoots her a smirk.
Ryan Shane: Calm down little girl. I don't need your whole fairytale story. I can see you're a little stressed out so I'm going to go before you do something you'll regret.
Before Dizzie responds, Ryan Shane starts to back up towards the exit, chair still in hand, Dizzie not taking her eyes off of him as he does.
El Diablo Blanco (c.) vs. Drake Connors
We return to the studio where Bridget already has clips playing on the screen behind her of El Diablo Blanco and Drake Connors respective matches at REBIRTH.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Our next match up will see two men, El Diablo Blanco and Drake Connors, fight for the Blanco’s Violence Championship. I have no idea how either one is alive much less able to compete tonight but they’re indeed here and ready to compete, let’s take a look.
Bridget turns to the screen and we see El D and Drake tie up, with Drake quickly overpowering Diablo with a forceful hip toss to the mat. Drake attempts to lock in the Torment of the Fallen, but Diablo avoids it, squirming quickly to the ropes before it can be locked in fully, forcing the break. Diablo pulls himself up and smacks Drake in the head with a beer bottle he pulls from his tights, cutting Drake's face and giving him and instant crimson mask. Drake shakes his head as Diablo goes for a Feeling Froggy, but Drake counters with a sidestep and a fast catch, turning the frog splash into a deadly DDT, driving Diablo face first into the mat, crunching the man's nose which begins to spew blood down his chin. Drake kips up nicely and goes for a quick leg drop, but El D rolls out of the way. Quickly dragging Drake up and nailing him with a fast and dirty powerbomb. El D pulls another bottle out of his tights, this one a bottle of lighter fluid, dousing himself and clearly about to repeat his Flamin' Froggy from a previous match, but before he can strike the lighter, the Taco Bell excecutive and another suit run down the ramp, yelling at him to stop. The exec climbs up on the apron and smacks the Zippo out of El D's hand, yelling at the man as Drake spots the lighter and gets a wicked grin on his face. He grabs the Zippo, and as the exec continues to berate El Diablo, Drake flicks the lighter to flame and throws it at El D's back, and he goes up like a candle! The exec leaps back to the floor in fear as El D turns back to Drake, only to be hit with the Ring of Cocytus (1916), Drake then rolls El D into a double leg pin, smothering the flames as the ref counts one, two, three, crowning a new Violence Champion.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: We have a new Violence Champion in Drake Connors who defeats El Diablo Blanco in 9 minutes 3 seconds no thanks to the fine folks from Taco Bell. It didn’t appear that things were quite over however as you’re about to see.
Drake straps the belt to his waist and exits the ring, walking right up to the exec and his be-suited flying monkey. They look intimidated just for a moment until Drake unexpectedly does a double split punch right to their nads! The fans explode into applause as Drake comes back up from his split, hitting both suited monkeys with dual uppercuts, laying them out. Drake then reenters the ring, and has the ring attendant toss him something: El D's homemade championship belt! The fans pop as they recognize it, and Drake pulls a slightly stunned and crispy El Diablo up to his feet, to whom Drake hands the fake belt, raising El D's stunned hand with his own, showing the man a respect he seldom gives others. The fans explode as Drake points at El D, clapping at the man as he holds the belt his little Diablitos made for him to his chest, some sort of emotion coursing through him as Drake exits the ring to "Devil Trigger". Diablo stares after Drake for a moment before also exiting the ring and returning to the back.
The show’s feed switches to another portion of the backstage area where we see a contemplative looking Terra Mason who was seated on a tall hard company carrying case, still in her ring gear from earlier, along with a grey hoodie. As she leans her back against the wall, her gaze moves upwards, staring into the lights as if she was about to enter her own world.
Ryan Shane: Are you thinking of taking another post match nap?
He stands there still dressed in his suit. The steel chair has never left his hands.
Ryan Shane: That's what do right? You win a match, go a little "crazy" and then need a little sleepy time. I guess that gives you a convenient alibi for leaving JC high and dry. He's always looking out for you, but you couldn't do the same? For all I know you were in on the attack. I wouldn't be surprised.
Terra lowers her gaze, looking over at Ryan Shane a bit perplexed. She leans her head in a little closer before moving back, looking uneasy as she does.
Terra Mason: Oh man, I feel so underdressed. I didn’t know something was going on after my match or else I would have at least changed into something business casual. How could I be so oblivious? Look I’m sorry, and I appreciate you still feeling okay with talking to me despite my error. I do have to ask though, what are you talking about when it comes to JC? Did something happen after my match tonight? Is he okay?! I saw things seemed a bit off online but I didn’t know what to make of it. Is that what led to tonight?!
Shane just looks at her with confusion on his face.
Ryan Shane: I'm not sure what you're trying to pull but I'm not an idiot. This "act" of yours isn't going to work on me. You know exactly what happened to JC. You know he was brutally attacked, and you know it was your fault. Why weren't you there to have his back?
Terra Mason: No, no, no, no. That’s wrong, that’s incorrect, that’s…the hunger. The hunger which was the jester in disguise was revealed and the cry was for naught. The echoes were all around but the voice was never heard. It was never going to be heard as it belonged to a vessel that is abandoned. But if...if it...is he?
Terra continues murmuring to herself though the volume gets lower with each passing sound. Tears start to well up before she blinks and they trickle down her cheeks. She looks away from Shane, her eyes darting around.
Terra Mason: That didn’t, it couldn’t have...I’m so sorry, I… I need air. I can’t do this. I swear I didn’t, I wouldn’t….is he? Is he? He has to be. I can’t...where is the exit?!
Her eyes dart around faster before she shakes her head and turns her back to Ryan, now sobbing uncontrollably, her head buried in her knees..
Ryan Shane: Your tears of guilt aren't going to get you anywhere. Do you expect me to feel sorry for you? Poor little Terra who couldn't do anything to help one of her closest friends. This whole display is quite pathetic, you're quite pathetic.
Slowly Terra lifts her heads, tears still flowing but her expression has changed.
Terra Mason: Of course she is, haven’t you noticed she messes everything up! I’m trying my best I swear! I didn’t know anything about….Why do you always do this?! You’re only making things worse and on top of that you can’t even take the slightest...stop it!! I’m...I’m...I need air, I have to...get me out of here!!
Slamming her fists hard against the case she is sitting on, Terra hops off and tries to make for the exit. Before she can leave Shane grabs her by the arm.
Ryan Shane: You can't just run away from this. That's not how this works. You need to take responsibility for things. You're a bad friend. JC doesn't need people like you.
Terra Mason: DON’T PUT ME BACK!! LET ME GO!!
Terra let out a loud scream, scratching at Ryan Shane’s hand to loosen his grip, screeching some more as she stumbles a little, before racing to the exit.
Angel Kash vs. RISA
Bridget Lewis-Killings: The next contest for tonight’s Chaos features two athletes looking to make their mark in different ways. In the case of RISA, while she’s been fighting valiantly, she has yet to score her first win in the company. The debuting Angel Kash on the other hand looks to get her career in EPIC started with an impressive win. We now take you to the highlights to see how this match unfolded.
The bell rings to signify the start of the match but as RISA goes to lock up with Angel, Kash is quick to back up, hanging onto the ropes and yelling at the referee to back up the feisty tiger. RISA begrudgingly steps back, Angel collecting herself before the two ladies circle each other, looking to lock up this time. At the last second though Angel ducks under and goes for the ropes again. RISA had this scouted though and went low, hooking Angel’s leg and rolling her up for a quick pin. Angel kicks out at one but looks mortified that she was even touched. RISA doesn’t let up though, grabbing Angel and taking her down with a few Arm Drags, some well placed Knee Strikes and getting a two count with La Magistral Cradle. Kash rolls out the ring after the pin attempt and RISA gives chase. She catches Angel once, tossing her into the ring, but Angel rolls right back out the other side, frustrating her opponent. RISA heads out again but is caught off guard by Angel spraying her right in the eyes with the perfume bottle she brought to ringside, the official immediately calling the bell for the disqualification.
The crowd boos the cowardice of the princess who now tosses RISA into the ring. She confidently takes her time stepping in, staring down and looking ready to strike. The referee tries to back her off but she pushes him away. As Angel goes to attack RISA, the blinded tiger starts swinging wildly in defense, her palm strikes landing just a few times but a few connections to the body and one strike to the face are enough to send Angel running. Kash touches her face, appalled as RISA yells at her to come back to the ring, still obviously in pain from the perfume.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Though it wasn’t the way she would have liked it, RISA did secure her first victory in EPIC at the 7 minute, 46 second mark by disqualification. I’m sure things between these two are far from done, though judging by the look on Ms. Kash’s face, she is hoping that it is.
Journey Into The Dark
The feeds flips over to the parking lot just outside the arena. There we see a hooded figure atop a white Ford Fusion SE rental car, clubbing wildly at the windshield and roof. Zooming closer, the figure pulls down the hood, revealing that it is Terra Mason, who tries to kick in the windshield to no avail. She then takes a seat on the hood, and turns her head slightly so that she’s looking at the driver’s side.
Terra Mason: Let me in! Why won’t YOU work?! Let me in! I NEED to leave! There is no air! YOU don’t understand!! Please…
Slamming her fists on the hood of the car one last time, Terra breaks down in tears once again, sliding herself down the side. She takes a couple steps and slumps down in front of the vehicle, burying her head in her knees much like earlier, continuing her cry. From a dark area of the parking lot walks Eli Hix, dried blood all over his face and his hair matted down with blood, head cocked to the side. He stops in front of Terra and extends his hand. Hearing the footsteps that approached her, Terra slowly looks up. She examines his hand for just a second before placing hers on it, linking the two. Being helped up to her feet, the two stare at one another, as if they entered their own world, and walked off to the darkened area where Hix emerged from.
Payback Will Be Served
The camera cuts back to the studio where Bridget Lewis-Killings is standing beside a blank screen.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: I want to take this time to show you a video message that was recorded earlier today. It's from EPIC's first ever World Champion. Let's see what he had to say.
As the message begins playing, we see "Hungry" Jack Swanson in what appears to be a homemade gym inside of a garage. Jack is dressed in a red Adidas tracksuit and the championship belt hangs over his right shoulder. His face still shows the evidence of a horrific attack.
Jack Swanson: I really wish I was able to be there tonight to celebrate this victory with all of you. This took a long time and a lot of hard work, but I can finally call myself World Champion! I owe it all to you fans for the support. Without you this wouldn't have been possible.
He looks over at the title and smiles.
Jack Swanson: I want to give a big shout out to JC Keeton. That kid gave everything he had. He should have been able to walk out proud, with his head held high. Instead the two of us were left laying in a pool of blood. The handiwork of a group of cowards. I don't know the status of JC but I wish him nothing but the best and a speedy recovery.
Swanson takes the title off of his shoulder and places it on a nearby workout bench.
Jack Swanson: That group of cowards that are going by the name RI5EN are the reason I'm not able to be there tonight. Trust me I begged and pleaded, but in the end I was told not to show up. It seems my good friend Bobby has to look out for the safety of the roster. I said I'd be fine. I said I'd sign a waiver. That's when Quinn told me why I couldn't show up. He didn't fear for my safety…
Now Jack stares directly into the camera.
Jack Swanson: He feared for their's! He knew that if I was there that I'd put them through hell. He knew if given the chance I'd put all five of them through a wall. He'd rather let RI5EN run rampant all over Chaos because he knows it better than setting me free upon them!
Swanson then turns to a heavy bag hanging from the ceiling of the garage.
Jack Swanson: I hope you all enjoy your fun this week. I don't care what anyone says, I will be there next week. Baker I'm coming for you and the rest of RI5EN. I want to be very clear about this. When I get my hands on you, "Dinner WILL Be Served"!!!
Hungry Jack turns to the heavy bag and rips it from the ceiling. He then throws it at the camera, knocking it over and turning everything dark.
Frank Lowe #1 Contender
At ring side, “Big Balls” by AC/DC hits the PA and out walks Frank Lowe to thunderous boos from the crowd. Frank soaks the negative attention in as he climbs into the ring and calls for a mic.
Frank Lowe: You all saw what happened earlier. Daniel Dream couldn’t hold his own and at the end of his match with me, I was the only man left standing.
The crowd boos Frank loudly.
Frank Lowe: Oh shut the hell up! Facts are facts whether you like them or not!
The crowd boos even louder.
Frank Lowe: Anyway… After doing some thinking in the back, I’ve made a decision… Given the events of earlier tonight, I’m here to tell you all that Frank Lowe is the NUMBER ONE CONTENDER TO THE EPIC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!
The crowd boos Frank to hell and back. They straight up hate Frank.
Frank Lowe: I know some of you must be asking How can he do that? He doesn’t have the power to just say he’s the Number One Contender! And to you, I say this: I can do whatever the hell I want whenever the hell I want and there isn’t anyone in this damn company who can stop me! Just ask Terra!
The crowd goes nuclear and Frank just smiles an antagonistic asshole’s smile.
Frank Lowe: If y’all boo just a little louder, I hear you can reverse time and stop me from beating the shit out of her.
Frank laughs as the crowd continues to boo him mercilessly.
Frank Lowe: Y’all seem pretty mad about this, so I’ll make a one time offer! If Daniel Dream can come down to this ring RIGHT NOW, I’ll give him the Contender’s spot…
Frank waits for a moment playing up the offer to Dream, and then “Die Anywhere Else” by MandoPony hits the PA and the crowd pops wild. Frank drapes himself over the ropes facing the entrance ramp with an incredulous look on his face. The music keeps playing but Dream doesn’t come out. The camera shoots Frank’s face and a sly smile spreads across it. Frank slowly lifts the mic back to his mouth.
Frank Lowe: Oh that’s right! Dream got stretchered out of here earlier tonight, didn’t he?!
The crowd goes ballistic booing Frank.
Frank Lowe: I guess that makes it official. FRANK LOWE IS THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER TO THE EPIC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AND I’M GONNA EAT HUNGRY JACK’S FUCKIN’ LUNCH!
Frank’s music hits the PA and Frank walks out of the ring and back up the ramp with an enormous smile on his face. The fans continue to boo him to death, and a few of them even throw garbage and full drinks from the crowd.
El Diablo Blanco: Corporate Stooge
A distraught El Diablo Blanco sulks backstage having lost the Violence Title earlier in the night. He just sits in the corner of the locker room still in his gear, drinking from a freshly cracked Tecate Light. The four men from earlier tonight along with the Taco Bell Executive appears in the scene along with a briefcase.
Taco Bell Executive: Why so down, El D? This is the start to something so much bigger.
El Diablo Blanco: You interfered in my match. You cost me the title. Do you have any idea what the bonus pay from being a champion helps with around the house?
Taco Bell Executive: Hey now. No one interfered in your match. There was no physical altercation. I was simply around to remind you about the hazard clause in your contract. What do you expect us to do? You tried to light yourself on fire again. Besides, I’m sure those little devils are doing just fine with your sponsorship deal.
El Diablo Blanco: They’re not devils. They are my Little Diablitos.
El Diablo is getting visibly upset at the executives.
Taco Bell Executive: Okay, Lil Diablitos. I understand you are upset that YOU lost the EPIC Violence Championship and I also understand how much that title meant to you. We foresaw this happening and the PR department over at Taco Bell whipped us up something fancy. And you know what? It’s just for you.
El Diablo Blanco: I don’t care, Brother. At this point I almost regret signing that contract.
Taco Bell Executive: Oh come on now. I’m sure your wife doesn’t have any regrets with you signing the deal. I mean her husband isn’t putting his life in danger each week. He brings in a decent paycheck. She no longer has to work that night shift anymore. Oh, we know. Taco Bell knows everything. And the kids! I’m sure their little homemade title was all heartfelt and something else genuine a person would say here but just wait until they get a load of this.
The Taco Bell Executive lays the briefcase down next to El Diablo and opens it up to unveil a new title belt.
Taco Bell Executive: I present to you the brand new Taco Bell Live Mas World Championship and I tell you what. That Nation of yours is going to love it. As a matter of fact we currently have replicas of this bad boy going into production so the Nation can purchase their own. Now they too can be just like you.
El Diablo Blanco: A replica? You’re talking about making replicas of a belt that already looks cheaply made. Look at it, the strap stretches.
Taco Bell Executive: That it does and that’s a good thing. You look like you've been putting on a few pounds as of late. Has someone been having too many Flamin’ Diablo Burritos?
El Diablo is not amused by the Taco Bell Executive.
Taco Bell Executive: Come on, I’m just jonesing you. Listen, you keep this bad boy. Go out and get yourself a suit, hopefully a couple of them like we discussed. No more Zubaz remember. You’re a corporate sponsor now. We need you to dress the part. This is a good thing. It’s going to be great.
The executive takes the briefcase, leaving behind the title belt, and leaves El Diablo to himself in the locker room. El Diablo, still with Tecate Light in hand, tosses the beer up against the lockers as a loud clang rings out upon impact. He looks over at the Taco Bell Live Mas World Championship sitting next to him and just pushes it into the floor; disgusted with its presence. He just shakes his head back and forth as we cut back to the ring.
Maverick (c.) vs. Dragan Hill
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Now ladies and gentlemen, following quite the night, we have arrived at our Chaos main event. This match sees the now EPIC Elite Champion Maverick take on the man who won the number one contendership at REBIRTH in Dragan Hill. Who will walk out of Chaos as the Elite Champion? Let’s find out.
The attention is once again turned to the monitor which returns us to ringside. In the ring the official shows both champion and challenger the new EPIC Elite Championship before raising it up for all to see. He hands it over to the ring attendant before giving the go, the bell sounding to get the match started. The two lock up in the center, Hill backing up Maverick a bit but the champion pushing back, leading them to return to the center of the ring. They go on to trade a few holds, the exchange ending with Hill tripping the champion, looking to end things quickly with Dragan’s Cage (Boston Crab) but Maverick is able to maneuver underneath for a roll up. Just as soon as Dragan kicks out, he’s rocked hard with a dropkick to the face, the younger man then mounting his opponent and laying in stiff strikes to the head and face. The referee steps in, causing Maverick to back up, rising to his feet, but this only serves to frustrate the hot-headed champion more who charges at his opponent as he starts to get back to his feet and brings him right back down with a Front Flip Backstabber. A two count annoys the champion who delivers a quick Flapjack Toss to leave his opponent down as he ascends to the top rope. Maverick mouths off to the crowd for a moment, which gives Hill enough time to stagger, leaning back against the ropes and causing Maverick to get crotched on the top. Dragan climbs up and tries to capitalize but the younger man grits through the pain and fights back, the two trading shots until Maverick lands a headbutt which sends Hill crashing down to the canvas. Maverick positions himself, wasting no time before leaping, landing a gorgeous Corkscrew Moonsault. However, the champion opts against going for the cover, grabbing his opponent by the hair. He leans in close, whispering something inaudible before setting up and delivering His Blade (Lifting Inverted DDT), covering Dragan for the victory.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While many have questioned the recent actions of the Elite Champion, there is no denying Maverick is a credible competitor and showed that with a clear victory against Dragan Hill, getting the win by pinfall at the 10 minute and 12 second mark. The night was not over for the new champion though, and on behalf of all at EPIC, I wish you well and leave you with the message left for young Maverick.
“Handshakes To Fist Fights” by Devour the Day begins to play and Muru makes his way out onto the entrance ramp. He is carrying a microphone in his left hand. When the music dies down he addresses Elite Champion Maverick, who is still in the ring.
Muru: Congrats kid, you just picked up a big win against a quality opponent. I wanted to be the first one to say, way to go. While I’m here I figured I might as well address that little attack that happened at REBIRTH. Now I’m sure you’ve seen that some people are pretty pissed off about what went down. My cousin Ryan Shane might be the most pissed off out of anyone. I know I should be mad, but I’m not. I guess I’m just disappointed. I offered you a real chance at friendship, and I thought when you shook my hand that you accepted it. I guess I was wrong. Instead you chose to align yourself with a group of guys who don’t care about you. A group of guys that will toss you to the curb as soon as you stop being useful to them.
The young champion in the ring looks slightly irritated as he calls for the ring attendant to pass him a microphone. Grabbing it, he steps back to the center, looking over at Muru before speaking.
Maverick: I disappointed you? Let us not forget how this all started. You were the one trying to use me, you were the one who was trying to get into my head. You seriously stand there and expect me to believe you wanted to be my friend, that you had genuine feelings that were hurt. Just stop it! You don’t have to pretend anymore, the show is over. I know you want your revenge so come and try to take it, I fucking dare you. But before you do…
Pausing a moment, Maverick gathers his thoughts before letting out a deep breath and continuing.
Maverick: There is one thing you got wrong though. I meant it when I shook your hand, you just failed to see the entire picture and meaning behind it, like you always do.
The veteran looks to the crowd before shaking his head.
Muru: I don’t know how many times I’ve got to tell you, I was never trying to use you. All I was trying to do was give back to the younger generation. I know you think quite highly of yourself, especially now that you have a taste of success. I want to be very clear when I say this. There is no universe where I would ever need to use you to get ahead. I’ve done enough on my own. I was already “The Greatest Show on Earth” before you were born.
He pauses for a moment and the crowd pops a little.
Muru: As for revenge? I don’t need revenge. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. I don’t know why you think you do. You’re talented enough that you don’t need to align yourself with guys like Baker. I think you’re better than that.
Maverick looks down for a minute, mulling over Muru’s words before snapping out of it and steeling his resolve.
Maverick: Nice try, but I see what you’re doing. Looking to kill me with kindness, boosting me up so you can bring me right back down to where I started. The people here might think you’re the good guy trying to save the rookie champ Maverick, but I’m not buying it.
All Muru can do is sigh.
Muru: This isn’t about good guys or bad guys kid. I never said you need saving...I only wanted you to know you’re not alone. I wasn’t coming at you as a wrestling veteran looking for a one up. I was coming to you man to man. So I’m going to look past the gimmicks and the ring names and I want to talk to Ryan Connors. I want you to know that I’m not giving up on you. It’s not too late to start over…
He extends his hand toward the ring. In the ring Maverick is taken aback. The crowd seems to want the two to reconcile. Before anything can happen Muru is attacked from behind. Ethan and Lucas Wylde are stomping away at Muru as the fans boo them. They pick up Muru and look to hit Wylde Ride (Shatter Machine) but they are interrupted by Ryan Shane. He hits Lucas Wylde with a shot to the midsection with the dented steel chair he’s been carrying all night. He then turns his attention to Ethan. He swings wildly just narrowly missing, but chasing the bro country brothers away. Shane then turns to the ring and eyes Maverick. He starts heading down the ramp with chair in hand. Before he can get very far Muru stops him, not wanting his cousin to attack the rookie champion. The scene fades to the EPIC and Amazon Prime logos as the two cousins continue arguing on the rampway.
