Johnny Dangerously vs. Neo
We come back from commercial and Johnny Dangerously is in the ring.
Adilene Floyd: The following is a singles match! Introducing first… JOHNNY DANGEROUSLY!
Chris Avery: We’ve got a singles match coming up, Billy!
Billy: And this is the first time Neo will fight under the Philidor Holdings umbrella!
Chris Avery: He was part of a brutal attack last week, sending two former members of the roster to the hospital! He was just out here for carnage last week, and I hope this isn’t a repeat!
“Why Do I Love You So?” by Johnny Tillotson hits. Neo enters with a look of indifference on his face as he walks down the ramp, mostly ignoring the fans who aren’t sure how to interact with him. He takes the steps up to the apron and steps through the middle rope, rocking his head from side to side and mouthing some words to himself, keeping himself to one corner of the ring.
Adilene Floyd: And his opponent, from Syracuse, New York… representing Philidor Holdings… NEO!!!
The referee feels the thick tension in the air as Dangerously cautiously approaches Neo in the center of the ring. He extends an enclosed fist, hoping for a bump out of respect as the bell rings. Neo just looks down at his balled up hand and slaps it away.
Chris Avery: He’s not interested in that!
This enrages Dangerously, who storms in with a double axe-handle smash, but Neo sidesteps the attack and lands a roundhouse kick to Johnny’s gut. He flips Dangerously over with a snapmare and transitions into a rear facelock. Dangerously rises to his knees, looking for leverage, but Neo quickly moves to a wristlock, before using his shoulder as the fulcrum for a targeted armbreaker! Dangerously shakes his sore arm around as Neo plants a kick to his chest.
Billy: Neo isn’t here to play tonight!
Chris Avery: He looks like he’s on a mission to tear out a limb!
Neo slaps Dangerously on the back of the head and whips himself off the ropes, looking to connect with a high knee. But Dangerously counters, dropping Neo down with a powerslam out of nowhere, igniting the crowd! Johnny kicks him on the back of the shoulder to keep him down, and targets Neo for a swinging neckbreaker! But Neo holds his ground and Johnny flattens on the canvas. Neo grips his leg and falls backwards into a grapevine, casually transitioning into a calf crusher! Johnny feels the pain immediately and is able to crawl towards the ropes to break the hold. The referee forces Neo to let him go, but Neo kicks him a little low as a parting shot, immediately drawing the referee to get into Neo’s face!
Chris Avery: These people do not care about rules! Do not care about law and order! They think nothing applies to them, and I’m happy to see that our team won’t take it!
Billy: Our referees are fearless and they won’t hesitate to DQ him! He’s on his last warning!
Neo smirks as the red-faced referee screams at him. A light shove out of the way, but Neo walks right into a spinebuster from Dangerously! He hooks the leg!
1…
2…
...but Neo kicks out!
Dangerously seems to be getting a little bit of momentum now. After a stiff right hand, he whips Neo to the ropes. He hops with a dropkick attempt but Neo grabs the rope to halt to a stop, and immediately pounces into a half crab on the knee he was targeting earlier in the contest! Dangerously counters, flipping out of the hold. There’s a mad scramble now as Neo is using his submission expertise but Dangerously is showing a ton of grit in countering out of danger!
Chris Avery: Would you look at that! These guys are so skilled!
Billy: Oh no!
Dangerously turns one too many times and falls right into the devastating heel hook, Neo’s (The) Righteous Prison!
Chris Avery: Right in the middle of the ring too!
Billy: He’s trying to break free!
...but he cant.
TAP TAP TAP
Chris Avery: That’ll do it! Submission win tonight for Neo! And quite impressive!
Neo rises to his feet and stares daggers at Johnny Dangerously, who rolls in agony. His music is playing over the loudspeakers as he continues to stalk Johnny like prey.
Chris Avery: This doesn’t look good, Billy! Someone get him out of there!
“I’M THE BAD GUY!”
Billy: Oh god, no! Especially now!
“DUH!”
Lissie Hope sprints down the ramp and slides in, coming face to face with Neo who was obviously considering repeating last week’s attack… but Lissie stops him! She tells him not to! There’s a bit of confusion in the arena now, trying to get a read on what Lissie and Neo are discussing.
Chris Avery: Well that’s quite a surprise, Billy! Lissie Hope came out here to stop Neo from inflicting even more damage on Johnny Dangerously!
Billy: No one ever knows what Lissie Hope will show up, Chris!
Chris Avery: And she wants a mic!
Lissie Hope still stands between Neo and Johnny Dangerously, who’s holding his knee in agony.
Lissie Hope: They asked us not to hurt anyone tonight, Neo. Our spots at Evolution depend on it, apparently.
Lissie rolls her eyes and mouths for Johnny to leave. Johnny rolls out of the ring.
Lissie Hope: I mean, Odin Balfore and Walter can send a dozen staff members to the hospital, and they’re always welcomed back with open arms. The list goes on -- Graham Baker. Frank Lowe. Darren Marsh. James Nightingale. These scumbags are the absolute worst of humanity.
The disgust drips from her lips.
Lissie Hope: But we’re the assholes for “taking out the trash.” For “cleaning up the mess” that Action Wrestling never would’ve done themselves. And they would’ve kept bringing those lowlifes out here and fed them to the Graham’s. To the Lowe’s. And we’re the bad guys?
Neo just watches Lissie’s address from the corner of the ring.
Lissie Hope: My spot at Evolution is in jeopardy? You might not even have one altogether, Neo. The double-standards in this company just grind my goddamn gears.
Chris Avery: What the hell does she want? What is any of this about??
Billy: She wants a big-time match! Well, didn’t Pasternak say she had one??
Lissie Hope: I want to hurt people. If this were up to me, Neo and I would’ve broken Johnny’s legs out here right this second!
Her voice rises as Johnny looks back, still limping up the ramp.
Lissie Hope: ...but I saw the bigger picture. I came out here and saved him from that devastation. Aren’t you proud of me, Action Wrestling? Haven’t I earned my trip to Evolution? What are--
Lissie is interrupted by a video on the tron.
The sound of footsteps.
The camera follows her stiletto heels.
Long strands of hair flow with every step.
The camera pans upwards.
Chris Avery: NOOOO WAAAAAY!
Billy: THIS. IS. HAPPENING!
The slow beat of Rihanna's "Same Ol' Mistakes" rolls through the arena as blue and white spotlights, synchronized to the music, flare on and off against a darkened stage. Bonnie Blue appears, peering at the audience over the rims of a pair of teal shutter shades. The crowd erupts in cheers, a chant of “BONNIE! BONNIE!” pours forth from all directions as she surveys Lissie Hope in the middle of the ring, a defiant smirk on pink-glossed lips.
Chris Avery: OH MY GOD! THIS IS A FORMER WCF WORLD CHAMPION! A UCI HALL OF FAMER! THIS IS BONNIE BLUE… AND IT SEEMS LIKE SHE’S ANSWERING THE CHALLENGE!
Billy: THESE MIGHT BE THE TWO MOST TRANSCENDENT WOMEN IN THE HISTORY OF ACTION WRESTLING! PILLARS OF THIS INDUSTRY! THE FOUNDATION OF THE WOMEN’S REVOLUTION!
Chris Avery: AND LISSIE LOOKS LIKE SHE’S SEEN A GHOST! WE ALL HAVE! BONNIE BLUE HASN’T BEEN IN AN ACTION WRESTLING RING FOR DAMN NEAR A YEAR! BUT SHE’S HERE TONIGHT!
Bonnie Blue stands on the stage.
Lissie Hope smiles in the ring.
The tron lights up.
Bonnie points at the graphic.
Chris Avery: AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! IT’S OFFICIAL!
Billy: BONNIE BLUE! LISSIE HOPE! EVOLUTION 4!
Chris Avery: WE THOUGHT THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN! WE THOUGHT WE LOST OUR CHANCE! BUT THIS IS IT, A ONCE IN A LIFETIME MATCH!
Billy: HOW’S THAT FOR A MARQUEE MATCH, LISSIE!? IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED!?
Lissie is still smiling in the ring, being stared down by Bonnie Blue on the ramp. Neither need to say another word.
Not yet.
We fade to a commercial.
