Tawny Layne, 25, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Monday evening.
Tawny was born on 7th March 1996 in Tampa to Will and Esther Layne. After graduating from Blake High School, she went on to study Psychology at the University of Miami.
After graduation, she commenced her career as a researcher for Clinical Psychology Magazine before leaving in 2018 for health reasons.
She is survived by her 1 year old daughter Debonair whom is presently missing, though police are confident that she is safe.
Close friend Aimee paid tribute: "Tawny experienced many tragedies in her short time on earth, including the one which ultimately took her life. Her friends and loved ones were continually inspired by her perseverance and unbridled sense of fun despite the numerous traumas she suffered.
"In recent years, she fell in with some characters of ill repute and, sadly, Tawny became unrecognisable in both appearance and personality from the vibrant, sweet girl we had known.
"Fortunately, however, following the birth of her daughter 'Debi' last year, Tawny turned her life around; not only returning to the effervescent person we knew but blossoming further into a woman who greatly touched and blessed the local community. Tawny spent her last few months volunteering at a homeless shelter and recently sourced funding for a pioneer scheme in aid of mental wellbeing amongst minority groups.
"It was a privilege to know Tawny. My heart overflows with deep grief but, moreover, immense gratitude that I ever knew her.
"I and others who were close to Tawny are determined to ensure that young Debonair remembers her beautiful mother and we are committed to doing our best to continue the wonderful nurturing that Tawny started."
Funeral arrangements are to follow.
Rest in peace Tawny.
