The show opens with a wide shot of the arena, Buck Henry standing in the ring placidly as the crowd cheers before cutting over to the announce table.
Tony: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Sunday Night Delight! from beautiful Toronto, Ontario! I’m Tony Watson, joined as always by Lonnie Parks. Lonnie, we’ve got a pretty packed show tonight, wouldn’t you agree?”
Lonnie: “Absolutely Tony. We’ve got The Wraith in sanctioned action for the first time since he appeared in FCPW and quite frankly beat the shit out of everyone he’s put hands on. Sabastian Caine and Vin Halsted have had beef ever since both first set foot in an FCPW ring and tonight they face off once more. We’ve got two-thirds of the Women’s championship match facing off in mixed tag action, and we have ANOTHER mixed tag in the main event with our proud champion John Cavanagh and his fiancee Shannon Riley facing off against Dank Sinatra and Fiona Harris.”
Tony: “Not to mention a sit down interview with Victoria McKenzie-”
Lonnie: “That’s Queen Thicctoria to you, Tony.”
Tony: “And we’ll hear from three of our newest signees as well. But first thing’s first, the FCPW debut of “The Sydney-Sendai Suplex Sensei” Joji Nobu!”
Lonnie: “Ain’t that nickname a tongue twister. Take it away Amanda Jackson!”
Amanda: “The following matchup is scheduled for one fall! Already in the ring, from Rochester, New York, “Big House” Buck Henry! And his opponent, from Sydney, Australia, “Mr. Suplex” Joji Nobu!”
When Legends Rise by Godsmack hits the PA system as the surly and middle aged man saunters out to the ring, scowling and taking swigs from a bottle of whiskey in his hand; Joji would notice any fans giving him grief and respond by taking a swig of his whiskey and spitting it right at the fans, laughing and daring any fan doused to jump the rail. The Japanese born Australian sings along to the chorus of his theme as he saunters around the ring-side area, taking his time as he makes his way passed by the announcers desk, he mouths off a bit to Lonnie and Tony, taking a swig of his whiskey and acts like he's going to spit it at them, only to laugh and flip them off to see them flinch. As Joji enters the ring, he casually walks around the ring, only to stop, quickly roll out of the ring and decide that he is going to spit his whiskey at Lonnie and Tony before rolling back into the ring and just leaning against the turnbuckle, waiting for the match to start.
Lonnie: “Ugh, I’m gonna smell like booze all night now.”
Tony: “Nothing unusual for you! Here we go!”
Joji Nobu vs Buck Henry
Tony: “Buck Henry moves into the center of the ring and Nobu is circling warily, he’s definitely not looking to lock up with Henry here.”
Lonnie: “You can’t blame him, Buck literally weighs twice what Nobu does.”
Tony: “Nobu connects with a big roundhouse to the thigh of Buck Henry, drawing a wince from the big man! There seemed to be a fair bit of respect between these two men once they learned they’d be facing off tonight.”
Lonnie: “Well, you have to be an idiot to disrespect the resume and skills of Nobu and as much as Buck Henry looks like an idiot, he’s not one. And Nobu, I don’t know how much he respects the skills, or lack thereof, of Henry but he certainly respects the size.”
Tony: “Another big leg kick by Nobu, he’s landing those at will so far. Good way to weaken Buck, take away some of the power from his base.”
Nobu throws another leg kick, Buck managing to catch this one as it connects but Nobu quickly hits an enziguri, staggering Buck and sending him back into the corner. Nobu takes a second to measure him before charging across the ring and nailing Buck with a big boot in the buckles!
Tony: “Huge impact from Nobu there! Buck Henry needs to break the momentum of Nobu now or I think he’s gonna be in big trouble!”
Lonnie: “Ooh, I think Buck Henry might have a broken nose, Tony. He wasn’t exactly pretty before, that ain’t gonna help.”
Nobu cuts back across the ring before charging in, seemingly looking for another boot but this time Buck comes out of the corner to meet him, nailing Nobu with a big clothesline. Nobu rolls towards the ropes but Buck isn’t able to follow up, shaking his head a little as he leans back against the ropes.
Lonnie: “That’s the big thing about being able to land the kind of shots Nobu can, Tony. Even if it doesn’t end the match then and there, you rock a guy like Buck Henry got rocked, it can make it hard for him to take control in a match.”
Tony: “Nobu’s back up and he charges in, he throws a jumping knee but Buck catches it! That surprised Nobu! Buck spins him around and - I don’t believe it!”
Lonnie: “Cobra Clutch! Buck Henry’s got Joji Nobu locked in a Cobra Clutch! I guess Buck made it to the C’s in that encyclopedia!”
The crowd roars in approval a Nobu fights the hold, trying to turn his body to face Buck’s, Buck turning with him to stay at his back. The turning puts Nobu facing the corner though and he’s able to jump, planting his feet on the top turnbuckle and pushing back; Buck falls to his back and Joji backrolls over him, still locked in the hold but on top of Buck as the referee drops down to count, Buck forced to release the hold at two to avoid being pinned.
Lonnie: “Brilliant move by Nobu there. He was getting choked out by a man the size of Buck Henry and instead of panicking he maneuvers himself into a position to force a break of the hold. Great veteran mind right there Tony.”
Buck moves to get back to his feet as quickly as he can but, even after being caught in the chokehold, Nobu is far faster and Buck turns around straight into a big running, jumping knee strike! Buck slumps back into the ropes, rebounding off them just to eat a superkick! Buck falls to his knees in the ring, head drooping and Nobu’s eyes seemingly light up, the smaller man hitting the ropes before rebounding back and smashing Buck with a Yakuza kick!
Tony: “That’s the Yakuz-Aus kick! This thing is over!”
Buck slumps to the mat and Nobu quickly covers him as the referee counts one, two, three.
Amanda: “Your winner by pinfall, Joji Nobu!”
Tony: “Huge win for Joji Nobu in his debut match here at First Class Pro.”
Lonnie: “Absolutely Tony. Buck Henry wasn’t backing down but he had no answer for the speed or experience of Nobu. Those kicks were absolutely lethal tonight.”
The referee raises Nobu’s hand, the shot staying on them with Buck Henry barely moving on the mat in the background as the show goes to break.
