Tony: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Sunday Night Delight! We've got a huge show for you tonight, with fallout from Love and War! Of course we've got our main event tonight, the inaugural Canadian Champion John Cavanagh defending the belt for the very first time against the High Voltage Battle Royal winner Jonny C!"
Lonnie: "We've got women's action, the final two women from the six-way match facing off with Victoria Mckenzie facing Justice Cross!"
Tony: "A rematch from the first round of the title tournament with Jace Mason taking on Rick Gallagher!"
Lonnie: "And starting us off tonight, this match came about from that High Voltage Battle Royal, bad blood and a lot of bad words exchanged between Vin Halsted and Sabastian Caine. Amanda Jackson, get us started!"
Amanda: “The following match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Windsor, Ontario, accompanied by Mr. Tees, ‘The Captain of Carnage’ Sabastian Caine!”
“Meet The Monster” by Five Finger Death Punch hits and Sabastian Caine makes his way down the aisle with a look of disdain upon his face. Caine looks as though he’s ready to murder someone. Led down the aisle by his manager Mr. Tees, Caine pays little to no attention to the fans as he enters the ring and prepares for war.
Amanda: “His opponent, from Chicago, Illinois… Vin Halsted!”
A blue strobe light flickers over the white smoke as Halsted rises up from the floor to the rampway while standing with his head down and hand-in-hand in front of his body when the first chord of “Hail to the King” by Avenged Sevenfold begins to play. He, then, rages forward with his arms spread and a massive yell from his abdomen “Hail to the King” as the line “Hail to the King” crescendos over the arena sound system. The blue strobe light fades as a cascading golden waterfall of fireworks flows from the top of the entrance to the rampway behind him, he saunters forward with a cocky strut and smirk on his face. He jumps onto the middle of the apron in front of the ring, wipes his feet, and jumps over the ropes with ease. He climbs the nearest corner first to stand in front of the crowd to bask in his glory as he stretches his arms with his fists clenched as the refrain of “Hail to the King” plays over again. The music fades as he climbs down, then he turns and smirks at his opponent at the start of the match.
Sabastian Caine vs Vin Halsted
Tony: “The bell rings and here we go! Both men charge into the middle of the ring throwing hands, no quarter given!”
Lonnie: “Sabastian Caine and Mr. Tees were talking a lot of shit leading up to this match, and Halsted had to be pissed about the way he got eliminated from that battle royal by Caine. And Caine… I think he just likes this, to be honest.”
Caine ducks under a punch from Halsted, hooking him up and slamming him down with a sambo suplex! Halsted rolls away before Caine can look for a cover, so Caine pulls him up but Halsted ducks behind and hits a release german suplex! Caine stumbles up to his feet and Halsted pops him up onto his shoulders, looking Death Valley Driver but Caine slips out the back and hits a release german suplex of his own! Caine pulls Halsted up and looks for a DDT but Halsted counters with a trio of body shots before hitting a big overhead belly to belly suplex!
Tony: “Neither of these men are holding anything back!”
Lonnie: “Definitely no feeling out process here, Halsted and Caine just wanna knock one another out and go home!”
Halsted and Caine both come back up to their feet, both a little battered now but they charge again, both throwing punches once more before Caine cuts Vin off with a kick to the gut, followed with a whip into the corner. Caine charges in and nails Vin with a big flying forearm. Caine whips Halsted across the the opposite corner and Halsted hits the buckles hard before stumbling out a few steps. Caine comes flying in again but this time Halsted catches him before launching him into the turnbuckles with a t-bone suplex!
Tony: “Halsted into the cover, hooks the legs so that Caine can’t get a foot on the ropes and no! Caine kicks out at two!”
Lonnie: Halsted was smart there with how he went for that pin but Caine looks like he’ll be able to take at least a bit more punishment here. Tees has barely moved since this match has started, have you noticed that Tony?”
Tony: “Yup, he’s just been watching everything. You think he’s looking for weaknesses in Halsted’s game or Caine’s?”
Lonnie: “Oh, definitely both. The real question is, is he looking for them to try and make Caine better, or to exploit them himself?”
Caine stumbles back to his feet and Vin nails him with a trio of forearms, backing him into the corner before lifting the younger man up to a seated position on the top turnbuckle.
Tony: “Halsted loves taking guys off the top rope. He uses that big powerbomb from up there to finish off matches but he also likes that avalanche brainbuster and a plethora of superplexes.”
Halsted climbs up to the top as well, grabbing Caine by the ears to pull him up so both are standing up top. Halsted moves to hook up a superplex but Caine blocks and the two men start to trade punches on the top as both try to keep their balance.
Tony: “Halsted definitely not getting what he was looking for, taking Caine to the top. And Caine knows he has to protect himself from whatever Halsted had in mind if he wants to stay in this match.”
Suddenly a huge ‘Ooooh’ comes from the crowd as Halsted opts to just grab Caine by the head and jump down from the top, hauling Caine down so that he lands chest-first across the top rope, legs on the apron side as Halsted lands hard in the ring.
Lonnie: “Halsted showing his experience there; maybe that shot doesn’t end a match the way his Fade Out or Fahgetaboutit Bomb would’ve, but Caine is a hurting unit right now.”
Tony: “And Halsted looks to follow up, he hooks Caine up, looking to brainbuster him back into the ring I think. He lifts, he’s got Caine up vertical and - son of a bitch!”
Tees has come around the ring and sweeps the feet of Halsted, causing Halsted to fall backwards, pulling Caine down on top of him. Caine shifts into a lateral press and, with the ref up near Halsted’s head and not able to see, Tees holds Halsted’s legs at the feet! Halsted tries to kick but with the combined weight of Caine and Tees he can’t get up and the referee counts to three! As soon as the ref’s hand hits the third time Tees releases Halsted, not wanting to be seen and Halsted kicks out but it’s too late and the bell rings as Caine retreats from the ring.
Amanda: “Your winner by pinfall, Sabastian Caine!”
Tony: “What a cheap trick by Tees. We had a chance to see what Caine would do, if he could come back from that big shot on the ropes Halsted landed, to see if Halsted could finish the job and instead Tees has to interject himself like that. Terrible.”
Lonnie: “Hey, Tees has a job to do and that’s help his client get wins.”
Tony: “Yeah, but not like that! By instructing, by managing, not by putting hands on people!”
Lonnie: “Well you go tell him that. I’ll wait.”
Tees raises Caine’s hand on the ramp as Halsted argues with the referee before the show cuts to break.
