"Welcome to Sin City, the real deal, not like the watered down substitute you'd find in Jersey, where my opponent Harvey resides from."
Byron stands on a level above the casino floor that is built like a labyrinth of bright lights of slot machines and top heavy complimentary waitresses. Byron adjusts his black button up as his Lady Envy walks up decked out in a tight black leather dress with a glass of Bourbon on the rocks that she hands to Byron. He takes it and indulges in a slow sip, before eyeing the glass.
"Rich and inviting, this elixir lowers the guard of the sin filled drones who throw their money away, looking for ONE kiss from Lady luck that'll change their lives forever…"
Lady Envy takes the glass back and takes a sip of her own.
"Tastes like stale bathroom hooch to me…"
L shrugs and peers out over the balcony at the previously mentioned sin filled drones.
"You speak of Lady luck, Byron and you know Harvey Marx is throwing up every wish, prayer, sacrifice, or any other cry for help to make this one moment against you, to be his breakout moment… I mean, the guy can't make his magician act work in Atlantic City of all places, so he finds himself playing wrestler to make ends meet?"
As L speaks of the poor man's magician, Cris Angel walks by lapping up the adulation from his fans. Byron shakes his head not impressed.
"He could be doing worse, I suppose… All the smoke and mirrors without anything left behind the curtain to reveal. Harvey Marx under it all is a mere mortal man who wants to stretch beyond his means. He wants to reshape his future within the squared circle before it even begins, because he knows there has to be more behind the smoke and mirrors than what he has to show for it."
L watches as girls scream for Cris Angel to do magic for them and he dances around with his hands waving, trying to look as mystique as his douche ass can be.
"Surely Harvey isn't as bad as this goth tard, my love…"
Byron rubs his chin, watching Cris Angel pull a playing card out of his forearm with a paring knife.
"I'm sure Harvey's magic act is more for children than the brain dead masses, like this Angel fool. The truth of it all, he HAS to aim low for those who can't form their own independent thought, or they'll see how lackluster he truly is."
Lady Envy slowly nods as Cris Angel waves off his fans and walks towards Byron and her.
"Well, well, well…"
Cris stops in front of the two with a goth entourage following behind him.
"Even a master illusionist can see what you're really made of, Mr. Bathory…"
Byron stretches his collar out a bit.
"I bet, Mr. Angel, I bet… The thing is though, you're probably not use to this, but I am not pretending to be something I'm not. I'm not galavanting around begging for the attention of everyone to fill some void within me… I'm not a foolish jester like yourself and my opponent this week, Harvey Marx. I'm battle hardened… I'm scarred… I've been through hell and high water to get to where I stand today."
Cris Angel flashes a cocky little smirk.
"And you did all that while going from the fear mongering Sin Eater to the fluffy, not taken so seriously, Pin Eater. I've seen the shirts, guy and you're now a freakin meme. So get over your supernatural ass, because you're not that good at it."
Cris Angel runs his fingers through his hair slowly, lowering his shades, and chomping at Byron.
"Mindfreak OUT!"
Cris snaps her fingers and his entourage follow him, leaving Byron and L with their jaws dropped.
"That son of a…"
L tries to calm Byron down, by rubbing on his arm.
"It's okay, it is fine… What does that dick head know about public image, anyway?"
Byron nods and breathes a bit heavy.
"It IS FINE, L! Get me a forsaken camera, NOW!"
A waiter walks by doing face time on his phone and L grabs by the collar.
"You're coming with me!"
L drags the waiter to Byron who's standing in front of the entrance to the hotel with a stack of playing cards in his hand.
"Stand here and film him!"
The waiter adjusts his stance and holds the phone out toward Byron.
"Gather around, gather around! Allow Byron Bathory to open your 3rd eye to the truth behind the magic you're seeing in Sin City tonight! You have men and women walking these streets with their pop up shows! You have men and women gaining enough success by selling out their loved ones that they actually get a show in the hotel casinos! Truth of the matter is, not a single one of them really know what they're doing! They're magicians who manipulate and make you believe you are seeing what they want you to see! You're not seeing the REAL Cris Angel! You're not seeing the REAL Pen and Teller! You're sure as hell aren't seeing the REAL Harvey Marx!"
Byron spews the cards out of his hands with one quick hand motion and points to the waiter.
"I don't give a damn about your magic tricks and your inadequacies! Stand behind your smoke and mirrors, Harvey and I'll be sure to remember to pull the curtain back when I'm done exposing you! I'm hungry and you true self has enough sin to get me by to next week, I'm sure of it… Accept your fate, it's the only way you're going to save yourself from what is to come. I'm only taking your sins, I can't promise what I leave behind will be anywhere close to recognizable… Hopefully you can fall back on that magic career."
Byron shrugs with a wink and we fade out to black.
