And we’re on.
The screen slowly fades into a woman sitting at a table.
Woman: Good Morning and welcome to Breakfast With Beirness, I am your host Kate Beirness. This morning I am pleased to welcome Olympic gold medalist, world hockey champion, and three time Action Wrestling tag team champion, Karlie Nash, welcome.
Karlie: Great to be here Kate.
Kate: Everyone knows about your athletic accomplishments both on the ice and in the wrestling ring, so what would you consider your greatest accomplishment, Olympic Gold or three world tag team title reigns.
Karlie: Both are great accomplishments, but the difference is what we do on the ice is left there until we meet again, Professional wrestler’s never just leave it in the ring especially where women are concerned.
Kate we both work in male dominated professionals, but you at least have the respect of your male colleges, women in wrestling have always been seen as nothing but eye candy, when we step into a wrestling and outshine the men, they don’t like that and they’ll do what they have to to sabotage your career. Jealousy is a big thing in wrestling, when a man hears his match wasn’t as good as a female one, he takes it personally, it’s not our fault that most nights our matches outshine the guys.
Kate: Okay wasn’t expecting that answer, So talk about this inequality in wrestling.
Karlie: Gladly, just look at the company I work for, Lissie Hope for instance is a two time world champion, but is considered a lesser champion then Frank Venable, or Walter, the past year the tag team divisions were dominated by women, women held the television title for a considerable amount of time, women are on the rise in my company, and the men simply don’t like it.
Kate: December 20th, New York City, CruiserHavoc Rumble, where do you see yourself finishing?
Karlie: Kate, I’m going to New York City with one purpose, to win the rumble and do what nobody wants, lead the cruiserweight division into 2021 and beyond.
Kate: Good luck to you.
Karlie: Thanks.
Several hours later. Karlie is sitting in the middle of a wrestling ring.
Professional wrestling has always been considered a male dominated sport and for many years that was true, men wrestled and women were merely the eye candy on their arm, but as the years progressed women became just as capable in the ring as the men, sometimes outdoing them. I’ve wrestled in several wrestling organizations throughout my wrestling career, and I’ve paid my dues ten times over, yet I and the rest of the ladies in Action Wrestling, were still considered second best. Lissie Hope two time world champion, second best, Ash Blake, second best, Claire Hawkins, Sara Pettis, Sierra Silver, Nikola Vaughn all second best.
Karlie takes a short pause.
The Cruiserweight division has had one female champion, most people probably don’t even remember who she was, well I remember, and wherever you are Ms. Monster, I hope you watch this year's CruiserHavoc, for the women’s revolution is about to begin, it’s time that a woman lead the division, a division who’s champion lineage includes scumbags like Zombie McMorris, and Derrick Vayden, a ripoff low budget power ranger, and a corporate kiss ass like Teo Blaze.
On December 20th, I become the leader of the women’s revolution, December 20th the most dominant, successful female in the cruiserweight history takes her rightful place at the head on the Cruiserweight table, because honestly who is more qualified to lead the division than me.
I know all the doubters will try and discredit everything I’ve done in Action Wrestling, my first cruiserweight tag title considered nothing more than an act of cowardice, no it was an opportunity to good to pass up, my second a fluke, Karlie Nash can win a title but never keep it, so on and so on.
December 20th Cruiserhavoc, Karlie Nash becomes your Cruiserweight champion and you will recognize me as your cruiserweight champion, your new head of the table, your leader and your better.
Karlie smirks
It’s all about the revolution, and I'm about to change the world.
