A year ago my life changed forever.
In one night I went from a prospect to a bona-fide fucking star.
From just being the son of a guy only a few people here had even heard of to the name on the marquee every single week.
Twenty nine other people ignored me last year and I was one of the last four standing when the smoke cleared.
In my first match here.
They all know who I am this time and that's someone who has been a constant fixture when it comes to that title we're all fighting for.
All but a couple of months I took away to heal up from carrying this division on my back the previous five months I've either been holding or chasing that belt.
Kaz, the guy holding it now is the only person in this thing who can say they beat me but I could go down the list naming off all the people I've beaten but that wouldn't make a damn bit of difference.
This is a Battle Royal, it's 33.33333333333% skill, 33.33333333333% smarts, and 33.33333333333% luck but some of these fucking clowns ain't got none of the three.
It's as even a playing field as you're going to get though where even the bottom feeders and there's a lot of them have a chance to luck out a victory but that chance is as slim as Bol Bol and you can't see that dude when he turns sideways.
People are probably expecting me to be upset about being "punished" with entering second by D-Day but I was actually there to ask for number one.
Two will do.
"But why JC? Why would you want to start the match?"
I've spent the last few months taking the easy road all while telling these other Cruiserweights I was better than them.
Now I prove it.
I know what you're thinking but it's not a sudden change of heart it was the plan all along.
I sat on my couch injured back in May and watched Teo Blaze win the Dollar Tree brand CruiserHavoc 2 in disgust.
It should have been called CruiserHavoc 1.5 cause there were half the people as a typical CruiserHavoc in that bastard middle child.
That was the day I decided that I would be back and that come December I would correct the few mistakes I made in my AW debut.
There is no QDT, no Baker, Zmac's got half the brain cells he had last year which officially puts him into the negative there so that leaves me from last years final four.
Outside of me they're calling Kaz of course, Teo, Karlie Nash for some reason, and CJ Phoenix due to his alignment with The Following the favorites.
Last year Kaz was a non-factor from the start out there trying to make friends in the middle of an every man for himself match, Teo and Karlie were failing as heavyweights, and CJ was somewhere watching cartoons.
I know there's going to be people gunning for me.
People like Flop and Sara Pettis who's right side of the W/L column has my name up and down it.
There's the middle of the pack crew like Jim Mud, Trey Bouchet, and Azurine Vebbins have scores to settle from my tainted victories over them.
All the new faces that keep hearing the analysts and media calling me a favorite to win wanna make their name at my expense.
Then the guy that really hates me for some reason Reo Raijin and his alter ego Randy Seed, don't worry little buddy your secret is safe with me.
Plus the possibility of outsiders, returns, and people moving down.
Like Pure Champion Max Daemon knows I'm a threat but he should stay in his lane or I'll go up and take his title too.
I get it, the odds ain't in my favor but when I was a kid fighting for my life against cancer they weren't then either.
Last year I claimed dark horse status and almost did the unthinkable by winning CruiserHavoc.
This year I'm the front runner you'll all spend the next twelve months chasing as champion.
