Dandy DiVito vs. Ash Blake(c)
The arena lights go completely black, and after a moment, “Get Got” by Death Grips plays over the PA. The audience, sensing what’s coming, cheers wildly. Through the pitch blackness of the unlit arena, the lights start strobing throughout the house. Suddenly, Dandy DiVito is standing in the middle of the ring, jawing at the audience as he stands confidently.
Adilene Floyd: From Jacksonville, Florida, weighing in at 215 pounds, he is "THE ACTION WRESTLING ORIGINAL"... DANDY... DIVITO!
The lyrics sing out:
Get get get get, got got got got. Blood rush to my head lit hot lock. Poppin' off the fuckin' block.
The music stops and the house lights immediately come back up. Dandy stands firm bathing in the attention of the crowd finally in full light.
Billy: Dandy's had a tough go of things this last month and a half, hasn't he?
Chris Avery: You can't win 'em all, especially not against the murderer's row of talent he's faced in that span! But all it takes is one win to rebuild momentum.
Billy: And capturing the TV title on the hundredth episode of Monday Night Clash would be one helluva way to course-correct!
The arena lights go dark and a hushed whisper overtakes the crowd as they eagerly await whomever's set to come out next. For a split second, the ActionTron lights up, displaying the shape of an insect before...
"How are things on the west coast?"
Interpol's "The Heinrich Maneuver" hits the PA and the lights flash back on, the image on the screen long gone as Ash Blake emerges from behind the curtain, all smiles as usual. She seemingly bounces down the ring, offering elbow taps to ringside fans on the way down.
Adilene Floyd: Making her way to the ring, from Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, she is Ash Blake!
Ash hurriedly ascends the steps at ringside and enters under the middle rope, retreating towards her corner.
Billy: And here comes the champ!
Chris Avery: Ash is undefeated thus far in her short career, but this is her first true sink-or-swim moment.
Billy: All eyes oughta be on the outcome of this one!
Ash hands the belt over to the official, glaring at Dandy as the bell rings to start the match.
DING DING DING
The match begins and both Ash and Dandy circle each other, sizing the other up. Neither seems particularly eager to make the move, though Ash feigns an advance, retreating just as quickly as she stepped forward.
Billy: Takin' their sweet time getting to it, that's for sure.
Chris Avery: They both got a lot riding on this match, neither wants to make a mistake early!
As if hearing the commentators and wanting to immediately contradict, Dandy explodes forward, closing the gap quickly and coming in with a left hand that Ash swiftly slips, returning fire with a low kick to Dandy's left calf! Dandy shakes it off, barely fazed, as they circle each other once more.
He steps forward again with the same plan of attack, to the same result. Ash slips the punch and delivers a kick to the same spot, to the same result. Dandy barely flinches and shakes his head.
Chris Avery: You have to wonder why Ash is seemingly deciding to stand and strike with Dandy.
Billy: Yeah, that don't seem like it's gonna end well!
Once again, Dandy comes in. This time, however, he feints the left and baits Ash into moving on reflex. Before realization can set in, Dandy unleashes a massive right hook that connects flush to the jaw, knocking Ash off her feet and sending her to the mat like a sack of potatoes!
Billy: Called it.
Down, but not out, Ash scampers to the edge of the ring and grabs onto the rope with her left hand, rubbing the spot of impact with her right thumb. Gingerly, she rises to her feet with aid of the ropes, shaking loose the cobwebs. Ash leans into the ropes and rebounds off, sprinting towards Dandy…
Who knocks her right to the canvas again with a huge shoulder block! He doesn't let up, peeling her off the mat only to put her right back down with a suplex! Dandy rolls through and rises to his feet once more, keeping Ash on her knees as he sizes her up, right before lifting his own knee and clocking her in the face!
Billy: Shitfire!
Chris Avery: All Dandy thus far.
Dandy rolls Ash onto her back and covers, hooking the leg.
ONE!
TWO!
Ash gets her shoulder up! A weak stream of blood leaks from a cut across the bridge of her nose as she rolls out of Dandy's reach and begins to rise to a vertical base.
Chris Avery: It's gonna take a little bit more than that to put Ash down.
Dandy closes the distance and whips Ash into the ropes. Rebounding back, Ash catches Dany with a dropkick to the chest that sends him backwards, landing on his ass. Hopping to her feet, Ash quickly follows up with a kick to the seated man's chest that Dandy ducks by lying flat on the mat.
Appearing to stop on a dime, however, Ash quickly brings her feet together and jumps backwards, catching Dandy with a double foot stomp!
Billy: Wasn't expecting that one!
Ash quickly covers.
ONE!
TWO!
Dandy kicks out, shaking his head as he makes it back to his feet.
Chris Avery: Veteran move, taking an extra second to catch his breath there when he's clearly nowhere near done.
This time it's Ash who closes the distance, only to get tagged with another right hand from Dandy for her troubles! She staggers backwards, dazed for a split second before coming right back in and getting caught again!
Billy: She's having a hard time dodging those rights!
Chris Avery: I hate to say it, but the TV champ seems a little out of her element tonight.
Sensing the pattern, Ash feints, this time baiting Dandy into making the first move and catching him with a kick to the gut that doubles him over. She turns around, positioning her shoulder just under Dandy's chin and wrapping her arm around the back of his head…
Billy: Shitfire! Dandy's about to experience a Secondhand Vanity!
But not really, though. Dandy has the wherewithal to shove Ash away, sending her into the ropes. As she rebounds, Dandy loads up and barrels forward with a huge lariat—
That Ash ducks with a low bridge! Using the momentum to transition to a handstand, she brings her legs up onto Dandy's shoulders and dumps him on his head with an inverted Frankensteiner! Dandy rolls through, springing to his feet before falling back to the mat.
Ash doesn't hesitate before rushing to and scaling the turnbuckles, settling herself before leaping off.
Chris Avery: The Cottonwood Fall!
Dandy times the inverted 450 splash perfectly and gets his knees up right as Ash lands! She bounces off and lands on her back, clutching her ribs.
Billy: Well, somethin' fell, alright.
Dandy sits up, before getting to his knees as Ash begins to rise. Both on their knees, the two stare each other down for a second before Ash wildly swings a forearm that connects with Dandy's cheek. He cocks back and responds with a forearm of his own, catching her in the jaw. Back and forth the two go, Dandy getting the better of the exchange as the two get their feet, before finally Dandy sends Ash back to the canvas with a big right forearm!
Chris Avery: Always the right hand.
Dandy reaches down and grabs Ash by the hair, but she slips his grasp as he pulls her to her knees, springing to her feet herself and running for the ropes. She rebounds back and comes forward, using the momentum to set up for a tilt-a-whirl DDT.
Or not, as Dandy catches her mid rotation and lifts her up, dropping her face first onto the turnbuckle!
Billy: The Answer!
Ash crumples to the mat face first, and Dandy goes for the cover.
ONE!
TWO!
THR-KICKOUT! But as Ash does, she flails wildly, her thumb catching Dandy right in the eye! He staggers back, off-kilter as Ash gets back to her feet, grimacing with blood on her teeth. The ref moves to check on Dandy as Dandy reaches for his eye.
Billy: That one caught him bad!
Chris Avery: Couldn't have been on purpose.
Billy: Don't think he cares much about that, Chris.
Ash gets back to her feet, seeing Dandy grabbing at his eye and being attended to by the official and gapes with a sudden shock. Tentatively, she approaches her wounded competitor, only for Dandy to shove the official aside and come ROARING forward with a huge overhead right!
That Ash ducks!
Chris Avery: I think that's the first right hand she's avoided all night!
Quickly capitalizing, Ash grabs Dandy's right arm and quickly goes through the motions of her signature roll up pin.
Billy: The Rat Trap!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
Chris Avery: And Ash Blake retains!
Billy: Ash just defeated Dandy! Shitfire! What a WIN!
Ash rolls out of the ring and celebrates with the Television Championship once again as Dandy sits in the middle of the ring by himself.
Just then a bright light hits the ActionTron.
The light is BLINDING. We can't see the shadowy figure coming from the light..
Billy: Is this who Dandy has been alluding to as of late?!
Chris Avery: Rumor is Dandy had a friend! Is this him?!
The figure stands in the ring and finally the bright light goes away as the figure reaches a hand down to help Dandy to his feet.
Billy: WHAT?!
It's "The IllumiDaddy" Wesley.
Chris Avery: WHAT THE HELL IS WESLEY DOING WITH DANDY?!
Dandy smiles and Wesley pulls him to his feet. Wesley and Dandy tap each other on the shoulder and Wesley leads Dandy out of the ring.
Billy: Oh god, that duo is scary! Wesley has been giving advice to Dandy as of late?!
Chris Avery: And to think.. those two... those two can do damage!
Billy: I just don't understand things tonight! It's getting crazy!
