Apologies for lacking the hosting gravitas and wit of FPV/Howie/Flash/Dandy, but I was joined by two insightful, talented guests - the incomparable Adelaide Ainsworth/Flop and Lissie Hope. So at least some of the 3 hours 37 mins should be worth a watch. We recapped Havoc and the latest Clash/CruiserClash, predicted next week's results and Evolution 3 full cards (with Lissie taking more of a fantasy booking approach). Then we answered some questions. I loved this! Awesome. (I'll be adding a sub-forum for ya'll in AW network in a few minutes!) I feel like I have to respond to some things (not that I was called out lol). The thing with Havoc (and most big matches/world titles/etc) roleplays is that this is the way to think about it:We have to eat 65 bowls of Mac and Cheese. Your Roleplay is how you prepare and feed us Mac and Cheese. The best Mac and Cheese is when the first bite is just as good as the last bite. The best Mac and Cheese is also the bowl thats the most consistent, stable, and strong all the way through. Meaning, if I start eating your very well seasoned Mac and Cheese and the last few bites has hot dogs in it and there wasn't hot dogs in it before.. then your RP sort of loses its luster and it sort of becomes a different dish. MEANING, that a lot of roleplays were really good for Havoc but somewhere in those roleplays the characters sort of got OUT of pocket/out of character when shooting or conveying their . You can't tell me you're such a superstar and you don't watch the product and no one is as good as you and then turn around and shoot on Carter Shaw, Baker or someone else thats new. That means your character is sort of disorganized and it isn't as consistent. A lot of roleplays fell into that category.. That's why I laugh when people tell me we're so shoot orientated because I don't see it, especially in big matches like this. Your roleplay has to be a capsule of that time frame, what this match means to you, what you're trying to achieve, whats the goal, where are you at in this world, what other characters mean to you, what other characters you believe to stand in your way. Also with these matches, theres now becoming a trend of recycling RPs and not even knowing it too. I felt like the top 12 roleplays in Havoc were FANTASTIC reads from start to finish, they captured every single piece of the character and where they were at with Havoc coming up. Also you had to be technically tight too, you have to lead us through your roleplay, be entertaining, be strong from start to finish. Its sports-entertainment, its a soap opera, its pro wrestling.. if Edge cashes in, wins the title, loses it a week later, goes into a tail-spin.. you think he's going to cut a 20 minute promo shooting on the rest of the WWE the week of the Royal Rumble? No. He's going to sit in a dark room, do his low-deep voice, talk about his failures, what he's going to do to get back on top and how he's going to go through everyone to get there. He isn't just going to talk about specific wrestlers. (This is essentially what Lissie did and it worked). BUT thats not whats going to work, for say Raging Dead.. who could be Miz before the Rumble. Miz is going to come out and cut a promo running down the rest of the WWE roster because hes the Miz and he's awesome.. and thats what someone like Baker, or Raging Dead or someone in the midcard would do. THATS what we're looking for... you have to know where you stand, how the kayfabe around you works for you, and use that to your advantage.
Corey Blacks was good because he was this old-guard King who hates these kinds of matches, scoffed at the win-loss ratio he has in them all while being one of the winningest wrestlers in AW in hte last 15 months. It was a fantastic story.
Vayden, QDT, Wesley, (like I said the top 12 really did this WELL) and thats what we were looking for.
You could have had shoot if your character needed to shoot, you could have had pure story if your character needed the story, but all in all it was understanding where you were and how to use your surroundings to the advantage. I think the better writers did just that.
I don't mean to offend anyone else btw, I thought a lot of writers did well, and Havoc will always be a weird beast with a lot of disputes, arguments and debates (all healthy and I love every bit of it, thats what makes this game fun too!).
Hopefully that clears up some confusion, or maybe some questionable calls that people may have thought we had.
ALSO I DID 99% OF THE FUCKING GRAPHICS YOU MOFOS, AND IM HIGHLY OFFENDED BECAUSE WHEN I SHOWED CROW THE GRAPHICS HE SAID THEY WERE VERY GOOD AND HE GAVE ME A THUMBS UP AND PATTED ME ON THE BACK.

I just can't get on the same page with you on this glorious metaphor, Tort. If I was eating Mac N Cheese, and all of a sudden the last few bites had hot dogs in it? No luster lost. Infact, my mind would be blown to the amazing magic as I suddenly consume the best combo dish known to man.

I agree but then I wonder why there wasn’t hot dogs in it from the start, as then I have you thrown out by Walter.

If I knew that there was some of Tort’s mac and cheese surprise being served at the AW Buffet before Havoc, I would’ve came back sooner and dumped all your asses over the top rope. Wait a minute, who said Shadow was coming back? Never mind. Talk amongst yourselves. lol
