Monday, Bloody Monday Live from Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium
Sara Conway: Welcome everyone to Monday, Bloody Monday! We had an amazing return week, but this time, we kick things up a notch with some new talent that will bring unpredictable action.
St. Remi: That's right, we have Bryce Albright facing not one, but BOTH members of the tag team champions, Southern Militia, as well as a HUGE 6 man tag team match pitting good versus evil, mixing up familiar talent with fresh up and comers!
Sara Conway: To top it off, we have a Queen Sized main event where the New Blood Puroresu Women's Champion, Brooke Bell will go toe to toe with the hottest new women's signee, “Caribbean Gold” Taysia Lattimore!
St. Remi: She sure is hot, and so is our women's champion, but they're not just eye candy, they are some of the toughest competitors on the roster, and they look to prove that here tonight!
Sara Conway: Well, before we get to that, our Commissioner, Jason Zurra took to social media, and had some interesting things to say about the Ronin Division. But don't take my word for it, because he should be making his way out here in just a second.
“New Eden” by Animals as Leaders plays just as Sara Conway finishes her sentence. Jason Zurra comes out to cheers, followed closely by Roku Xete. He gets to the stage, mic in hand.
Oda Niko: Everyone, please welcome… Xete Roku, and the Commissioner of New Blood Puroresu, Jasooon Zuuuurraaa!!!
Jason: Thank you Niko. Now, without further ado, welcome everyone to Monday, Bloody Mondayyy!
The crowd cheers in anticipation!
Jason: We have a lot of great action to get to, but before we get to that, I do want to address the controversies that occurred last week. I will start with Allen Walker.
The crowd simmers down, and respectfully keeps their ears open.
Jason: Allen thought he could be slick and attack his brother Vincent before he was able to enter the arena, loopholing himself out of being banned from a New Blood contract. This is not the case. Allen Walker will not be signed to NBPW, and if he is seen anywhere near our premises, he will be fined.
The crowd claps, glad to hear that Allen is unable to get away with his actions.
Sara Conway: Good riddance, I say. Now the Ronins, and especially Vincent, can be able to compete without some bully in their crosshairs.
St. Remi: That’s a shame, though. Allen Walker is a dual champion, and would be a great addition to the roster, no matter what people think of his personality.
Sara Conway: I think the issue is more than just his persona…
Jason: Another issue I’d like to address is Vincent Walker’s Television Championship… or should I say, Harry Diderot’s. Vincent never truly won the championship, so we cannot officially grant him the title, although Masuda-sama and I are working the tweaks of this situation. We will be in talks with Harry Diderot to assess this situation, so that we may possibly have the UCI TV Title as an official part of NBPW in the future.
The crowd oohs and claps a bit, showing curiosity and excitement.
St. Remi: So, we may not see Allen Walker, but we might see Harry Diderot, bro!
Sara Conway: With his spinal injury, it could be a while before this comes to fruition.
Jason: This does not change Vincent’s Ronin Puroresu Championship victory. He is still our Ronin Champion, and will defend that title soon. This brings me to my last issue. I was very disappointed to see Steve Welsh, commonly known as the “Great Stevo,” being the first person eliminated in the Ronin Championship Sumo match last week, but this week will be his time to shine! As I said in my post on Twitter, he will be facing Sphinx and Hugo Brightside in a triple threat match, but I have added a stipulation!
St. Remi: Steel cage match, dude!
Sara Conway: That may be a bit much…
Jason: The winner of this match will go on to face Vincent Walker at our next PPV, Night of the Yokai for the Ronin Puroresu Championship!
The crowd cheers in excitement!
Jason: I won’t keep you guys waiting. Let’s get to the action… after a short commercial break.
The crowd laughs and boos as “New Eden” plays once more, Jason and Roku moving from the stage to ringside, by the timekeeper’s table.
Sara Conway: A big opportunity for the three up and comers! Let’s see who has what it takes to become the number one contender for Vincent Walker’s title!
The feed fades to commercial, along with Jason’s theme.
Ronin Division Action
After a Syfy commercial previews a new Japanese horror flick, produced by the Masuda Corp, the feed switches back to New Blood Puroresu, showing Sphinx, who is already in the ring, showing off his dance moves to the crowd, who are less than impressed.
Sara Conway: Welcome back to Monday, Bloody Monday! If you missed it, Jason Zurra announced a number one contendership triple threat match for Vincent Walker’s Ronin Puroresu Championship.
The karaoke version of "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers hits, and Hugo Brightside instantly pops up with his microphone and starts singing to the song. The crowd attempts to sing along while he sings and walks down the ramp.
He makes it to the ring, still singing. He sings the entire song before finally putting the mic down, still mouthing the words as he prepares for the match.
Oda Niko: ... Currently in the ring, from... the Brightside... weighing in at 193 lbs, he is Hugo... Brightside.
Sara Conway: I don’t think we’ve seen Hugo perform, you know… as a professional wrestler.
St. Remi: Tonight’s his big test. Let’s see what he’s got, bro!
The BloodTron4000 shows highlights of Stevo's career in and out of wrestling, as "Edge of Soul" plays through the PA System. The riff begins, and his mask logo pops up, enticing the crowd. The word "GO" is heard, and the Great Stevo burst to the stage, wearing a traditional Gi, as well as his trademark mask. He goes from one side of the stage to the other, attempting to pump up the crowd before he makes his way down the ramp. He makes sure to high five as many fans as possible on his way down.
Oda Niko: Making his way to the ring, from Anaheim California. Weighting in at 140lbs, he is the GREAT STEVOOO!
Stevo makes it to ringside and looks to the crowd. He pumps his fists up to them before turning and quickly sliding into the ring. He goes up to the top rope and gives the crowd a thumbs up before backflipping to the center of the ring, stumbling a bit as he lands. He collects himself and goes over to the corner, preparing for the match.
St. Remi: Honestly, bro, I don’t think this guy deserves a number one contendership match. He looked like a sloppy ameteur last week, and being the first eliminated doesn’t help him at all!
Sara Conway: I disagree! I think he has a lot of potential to be the number one underdog in the Ronin Division.
St. Remi: The number one underdog’ll be Vinny Walk, as long as he keeps up his fluke wins.
*DING DING DING!*
Sphinx attempts to convince Hugo and Stevo to duke it out, but they just stare at him. Stevo eventually hits a dropkick to Sphinx, forcing him to bounce off the turnbuckle, Hugo catching Sphinx with an armdrag immediately afterwards. Sphinx rolls out of the ring, slapping the mat in frustration. The crowd claps in approval.
Sara Conway: Good teamwork by Stevo and Hugo! Outsmarting Sphinx straight out of the gate!
St. Remi: Yeah, but this is a triple threat match, not a handicap, like the match we’ll be having later tonight. These two have to face each other, while keeping an eye out for Sphinx on the outside.
The two still in the ring lock up, trading between several headlocks, wristlocks, and waistlocks, the last waistlock being in Hugo’s favor.
St. Remi: Did Brightside use the Gi belt as a tie?
Sara Conway: Stay relevant to the match, Remi.
St. Remi: This is a serious question, dude!
Stevo manages to escape the waistlock with a winglock takeover, and immediately follows up with a clumsy hurricanrana. He pops up as the crowd applause him, but before he can capitalize on his advantage, Sphinx slithers in and hits a sly chop block on Stevo. Hugo begins to make his way up, but Sphinx takes him back down by throwing him to the turnbuckle, and scooping him over with a school boy.
ONE!
TWO!
St. Remi: Kickout right at two! Mr. Brightside ain’t down yet!
Sphinx waits for Hugo to rise, and then begins to chop him. Stevo recovers, and catches Sphinx with a drop toe hold. Hugo doubles the damage by gripping Sphinx for a DDT. The crowd pops big!
Sara Conway: Stevo and Hugo could be a great tag team!
St. Remi: I wonder how Vinny would feel.
Sara Conway: Match relevance, Remi.
Stevo tries to take advantage, but gets cut off again, Hugo locking in a front facelock. Stevo struggles to gain any leverage, but Sphinx quickly get up and hits Hugo with a spinning heel kick, and then hits Stevo with a bridged German suplex!
ONE!
TWO!
Sara Conway: Stevo kicks out! Down, but not out.
Sphinx clotheslines Stevo out of the ring. Hugo is getting up at the corner, and he says
Hugo: I’m coming out of my cage, and I’ve been doing just fine. Gotta, gotta be down, because I want it all…
Sphinx looks confused, but runs after him. Hugo quickly moves out of the way, throwing his legs over the middle rope, and immediately throwing them up to hit Sphinx on the dome.
St. Remi: IT STARTED OUT WITH A KISS!
Sphinx staggers over, trying to regain his composure. Hugo gets back to a vertical base catching Sphinx with a backstabber!
St. Remi: HOW DID IT END UP LIKE THIS, BRO!?
Sara Conway: Here we go…
Hugo sees that Sphinx is down, and turns his back for just a moment before hitting a standing moonsault!
St. Remi: IT WAS ONLY A KISS!
Hugo almost goes for a cover, but tries for another moonsault, but Sphinx reverses it.
St. Remi: IT WAS ONLY A KISS!!!
Sara Conway: He reversed it.
St. Remi: He did? Bro! Way to spoil the song, dude.
Both men stagger as Stevo makes his way up the top turnbuckle. He goes for a sloppy swanton fameasser on both of them, but Sphinx just barely gets out of the way.
Sara Conway: That would have been A Heroic Ending, but he only was able to hit one of his targets!
St. Remi: Sphinx just kicked Stevo right where the sun don’t shine, and then threw him right out of the ring!
Sphinx covers Hugo, making sure the ref isn’t looking before using the ropes for leverage.
ONE!
TWO!
Sara: Stevo’s trying to break up the pin!
THREE!
*DING DING DING!*
“Sphinx” by GRILLABEATS hits, Sphinx quickly rolling out of the ring, and celebrating as he makes it up the ramp. Stevo is stunned at ringside, feeling robbed out of a victory.
Oda Niko: Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner and new number one contender for the Ronin Puroresu Championship, Sphiiiiinx!
Sara Conway: Just when Stevo thought he could have the match won, Sphinx manages to snatch the number one contendership away from him!
St. Remi: Hugo and Stevo are all about flashiness, but Sphinx used substance over style, and that’s what got him the win!
The camera pans over to a disappointed Jason Zurra and Roku Xete, who exit to the back.
