Gimmick: The "gimmickless gimmick" aka no frills real person who just wrestles.
* overview *
So I think this can be the easiest depending on the handler. This entire game is creative skill so it depends but this is the wrestler with no gimmick.
So that character depends on your ability to tell outside non wrestling related stories and get the audience to care.
A danger is the frivolous character develop that can take up screen time and word cap that goes no were.
Eg, phone calls, gossip, bar settings. Like, having a drink without a story beat is a waste.
If the action doesnt enhance your character or provide conflict, it's a waste.
However, these characters are more grounded in reality and often HAVE to play by literary and real world rules. You put yourself in that box. You give yourself, the character and readers a very defined space in which to view that character.
You can step out of that space and into the fantastic but once you do, you cant close that outlet. Its always open. It wont hurt to go into fantasy or gimmick but you cant turn around and pretend it never happened.
With this character, the world is yours IF you can take it. There is a lot of competition in this character as there are many in efeds but it's not hard if you have the writing strength to do it.
* Survival*
Loss: Med
booking: Med
Burnout: Med
Longevity: Med
Survival rating: 4 of 5
Pros: Med survival means that things will never be too stressful. Low creative skill
Cons: Grounded in reality where most gimmicks arnt, is a challenge. strong writing skill
tier placement: all
Fed Utility: fed utility is open ended. Its goals are the handlers.
*Breakdown*
Ease of use: 4 of 5
- everyday type characters are easy to impliment and maintain throughout loss and extended multi year use
Creativity level required: low
You dont need to be terribly creative to maintain this type of character.
Writing style required: strong
I think the hardest thing about this everyday wrestler/ person is that have a strong technical writing ability is nearly a must. Almost like you need this to make up for the lack in creative elements that will be missing
Recommended skill level: ALL
I feel all skill levels can play this gimmick with modest success
Degree of success: very high
This gimmick *can* be very successful in efeds
Overall rating: 4 out of 5
Because this gimmick has no gimmick, it has no fallback. Your character stands and falls by your strength and weakness as a writer. However, its ease of use, low threshold for creativity and overall degree of success makes this a worthwhile type of character to pursue if you feel up to it
