Character Name: Carter Shaw
Nickname: None
Hometown: Boston, MA (Roxbury neighborhood)
Age: 28
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 235 lbs.
Alignment: (Face/Tweener/Heel) Saint.
In-Ring Style: Specializes in ‘street fight’ style brawling, MMA fighting and technical submissions. Has also become quite the high flying risk taker, not afraid of any 'stunt' or 'bump'.
Bio: Carter Shaw grew up in the low-income neighborhood called Roxbury in Boston, MA. When his father left the family, Carter, his brother Chris, and his mom Angela were left to fend for themselves. Carter, just at the age of 10, started looking for ways to make money to contribute to the family and try and get them out of their poor financial situation. Fighting was something that came natural. He could throw a mean punch at a young age, despite being a shy, withdrawn kid. His tenacity shined as he found his way through circles of neighborhood kids, managing to make some money via bets with other kids.
Through his teenage years, he’d become intertwined in any underground boxing, bare-knuckle fighting, you name it, scene he could get in on. Taking beatings, giving beatings, he’d do well enough to earn for the family. The fighting never stopped. Dropping out of high school and dedicating as much time as he could to training in different styles, he’d spend the next 10 years of his life between cage fighting companies and boxing tournaments. He started to spend short stints with local independent pro-wrestling companies, where he not only impressed with his toughness, but earned fanfare for his willing to self-sacrifice through high-flying moves being added to his arsenal. He managed to buy his mom a new apartment across Boston, in a much safer area, and then moved to Las Vegas to pursue MMA fighting for various promotions.
Accompanied with his ‘agent’, Lance Murdoch, a man he met running some of the underground fighting in Boston, and his brother Chris, he embarked on continuing to capitalize on his abilities. Lance saw money in Carter, with his babyface-type good looks combined with his rugged nature of living, and worked with him as his ‘agent’. Carter is a man of values, putting his family above anything else, and fighting not only for the money, but for the pride that comes with victory. It’s the only pride he’s ever known.
In April of 2020, Angela Shaw lost her sudden battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Carter has taken this on as another source of motivation, wanting so badly to do her memory and the family name proud. This also, however, led to a crisis of identity, as his lifetime of fighting was always sourced in providing financially for his mother.
At Evolution 3, Carter Shaw won his first AW gold, the AW Television Championship, in a triple threat match against Noris Cranley and then-champ Graham Baker. He defended the title successfully every week for about 2 months before losing to Claire Hawkins on the Raging Dead Tribute version of Clash.
At Uprising: All-In 2020, Carter Shaw surprised everyone by winning the All-In Ladder Match over 8 other competitors.
At Clash 100, after weeks of strange advertising, internet presence and appearances on various Clashes culminating in offering security, Philidor Holdings took over the end of the show, destroying the ring and equipment at ringside while also beating down both Corey Black and Walter after their World Title match. When the faces behind the masks were revealed, we learned that Ash Blake and 2 new arrivals (The H.R. Department) were Philidor Holdings, with Carter Shaw, Derrick Vayden, Noris Cranley and Jim Mud as their first sponsored stars of the roster. Details of these deals and this investment company's origins are still unclear, as are their true intentions.
At Havoc 2021, Carter Shaw cashed in his All-In briefcase. For a moment, it looked like he was going to cash in then and there on his Philidor compatriot and World Champion Ash Blake, but instead, he cashed in to be added to the Evolution 4 Main Event that Spencer Adams had just earned by winning the Havoc Rumble.
At Evolution 4, Carter Shaw won the AW World Championship over Spencer Adams and defending champ Ash Blake in a moment that stunned AW.

A guitar swell takes over the P.A. as the word "SHAW" flashes on the ActionTron until the guitar riff of "Angry Heart" By Otherwise kicks in, accompanied by the large screen filling with a 3D video of Carter Shaw punching through glass as if punching through the screen itself. Green strobe lights electrify the entrance stage as Shaw walks slowly out from the curtain with his head dropped, a hoodie pulled up over it. He stands still at the top of the ramp, the cheerss coming loudly from the crowd, as he slowly lifts his eyes up to meet the crowd, followed by removing the hood from his head.
Adilene Floyd: Coming to the ring, from Boston, Massachusetts...weighing in at 235 pounds, CARTEERRR SSHHAAAAAAAW!
He slowly turns in a 360, showing the "NEVER ZERO" slogan across the front of the hooded sweatshirt, along with the words "Saint Shaw" across the back. He bursts out from the stage with a momentary gritting of the teeth before yelling out some words to the nearby fans. He stops halfway down the ramp, his piercing blue eyes look out over the crowd as he pans from left to right before continuing forward, sliding into the ring under the bottom rope. He walks in a circle along the ropes before hopping up to a middle turnbuckle, outstretching his arms with open palms. He lets his body slowly fall backwards before dropping to his feet. He removes the hoodie, tossing it to ringside, before again yelling out to the crowd with his arms held out wide, pumping everybody up.

RIVALRIES/STORIES
Feud With Noris Cranley: Rivalry Recap
Feud With Corey Bull: After Carter Shaw won the All-In Briefcase at Uprising 2020, Corey Bull viciously attacked him after the match. This lead to a bit of an obsession of Corey Bull's to ruin Shaw's life after viewing the All-In victory as 'stealing' his opportunity. It started with small tactics, spray painting "NO MORE NICE THINGS" on Carter's car and house while he was competing on Clashes. During a match between Shaw and Ryan Lockhart on Clash, blood was dropped on the entire ring, leaving the two to fight it out drenched in red. It escalating greatly when Bull kidnapped Samantha Shaw, Carter's half-sister who he had been trying to get to know after learning about her existence. Corey Bull began leaving riddles for Shaw to try and solve, hinting to the next location he had to go to in order to find his sister. This culminated with Corey Bull burning down Carter's deceased mother's house in Boston and then a match between the two at AW: Execution. Shaw defeated Bull, but in the end he found out that Bull had let Samantha go. Carter received a letter the next week from her, blaming him for everything that happened, and saying that he would never see her again.
