Please let me know what you think of my RP for Evolution. It's the ending of this Awakening arc, so if you have followed it from the beginning, care to share your thoughts on how I ended it? Thanks to everyone for such an exhilarating week of RP's. Though I haven't faced many of you yet, you all challenge me to be better, to think outside the box. Can't wait for what's next.

I’ll say this much, from what my inbox has said thus far, your RP was very much appreciated by a good number of folks who read RPs.

I’m not even going to critique your work. Your Awakening arc was mighty fine damn television. Anticipating your next Lissie Hope Arc to covenant.

I’m curious what Odin thinks about a promoless RP but I’m also scared of being brought back down to earth. Whattodo whattodo...
Seriously though y’all, thank you. I really appreciate the kind words!

It's 1k. When you have to contract your usual allowance to 1k it's usually a struggle to find your voice and do what's necessary. (I am struggling with 2k in this tag lark, I was hoping that I'd be back in 4k again). I don't feel that here, It's still a natural promo which gets everything across that needs to be done. It's basically a quarter sized Lissie promo which doesn't lose anything from being 1k. This is a good thing.

What about Shadow? lol But seriously, Lissie, you did a good job with just the 1k. You can still tell that it’s a Lissie Hope RP.

Biggest one I saw was leaning heavy on WCF once again, it's kind of like the "oh Frank you're so old it's my time" kind of trope we all deal with. Frank is well established in AW now, the lean on WCF was (and is) a weird flex!

I think the biggest thing that stood out to me was you didn’t stick to any conviction. The hero/villain stuff looks cool on paper but in kayfabe, we need somebody to root for or despise. You can’t have it both ways. Pick your poison and drink it. Aside from that, you didn’t do much to build FPV as a viable contender. Why would Lissie want to beat “shitters”. If she legitimately doesn’t believe that Frank deserves to stand on the opposite side of the ring from her in the Wrestler of the Year tournament, then what does the tournament mean? It was gussied up pretty but there was no stakes, nothing for the reader to really sink their teeth into and go “oh shit, this is going to be THE MATCH”. You want to treat every match that way, even if you’re going against the lowest on the card. There’s a way to strike a harmonious balance. “You’re great, I’m better.” Make your opponent look like a million bucks. What sounds cooler? Burning a stack of cash or burning a one dollar bill? This was a good promo. You’re a good writer. Losses like this are going to happen to everyone at some point in their efed career so I wouldn’t dwell on it too hard. Just come back stronger next time.

I think as a tweener, a writer can survive in that grey area of being a villainous hero only if it’s done right. I think I’ve done a pretty good job going from hero to villain depending on if my opponent is being a face or a heel.
If you look at Dandy vs. Shadow in this WOTY tourney people really sunk their teeth into the match after I dropped my role-play. Dandy made it interesting after dropping his role-play but I knew after I dropped one of my best, Dandy did the same and won.
Dandy vs. Lissie had a different feel to me. You two built up the match but I don’t think it lived up to the hype because you two were building up to the cash in and not a one on one encounter. WOTY kinda deflated both Dandy & Lissie’s momentum in my opinion in that he put out a good role play against Lissie but not a great role play and you did the same and won the World title.
Sometimes, in matches like these, you have to go for the jugular when shooting that compliments your storytelling. You can come out guns blazing one week and come out shooting blanks the next week. Shitting Bricks Happens. And that’s what happened to you.
Writing about an opponents history is fine especially when that person has lived off that prior history when starting here. Hell, Shadow’s been quite a historical artifact according to the opponents that I’ve faced. I haven’t been in the WCF or UCI like forever and that history still comes into play in AW, but the WCF and UCI and AW are all part of my character’s history, and people are just blinded by the success that Shadow’s had in AW when defeating quality opponents, especially former WCF & UCI World Champions, as example here in AW. There comes a time when all that history becomes repetitive, and as a good writer, you will find ways of getting around that repetitiveness.
I’ve bounced back from losing to Dandy. Dandy will bounce back from losing to Lissie. And Lissie will bounce back from losing to F.V.P. ( wink, wink F.P.V.)
