The following is a letter addressed and published to the Action Wrestling Website.
Perhaps I allowed my position to get to my head. Perhaps I let my guard down, believing Quixote wasn't up to speed on the rigor and circumstance of his first title opportunity. And yet… here I stand, no longer the 201 and Fun Champion. For a moment I thought I was better than that. But I allowed my ego to burn brighter than my talent, and I paid the price. For what it's worth, QDT, your prowess and maturity have earned you my respect. And once I've dispatched of the rest of this division, I will meet you once again- only this time, that strap is coming home where it belongs.
In the meantime, I have to traipse my way through the division in order to get to my rematch. As we all know, I came down from the main roster specifically to answer a challenge from another former champ in Vasillis Knight. I defeated the Knight Mair, took the 201 Title and continued to rep this division with pride and dignity. I fought against the best this roster has to offer; I tagged up with the only man I believed to be a serious threat to my title reign.
So I suppose this is where I break things down. I'll address my one obvious threat first, because he's the only one worth separating from the chaff.
Teddy Geisel. My friend, you continue to bring your A game week in and week out. Win or lose, you have the aptitude to show up every last member of the 201 Division- humbly speaking, myself included. I already mentioned before how I felt a singles match with you for the 201 Title would blow the roof off, and I still believe in that. In fact, once I win this match and go on to defeat Quixote for my title, you'll be guaranteed the first spot for a match.
Yes, my good man, I said when. It is a forgone conclusion that I take this battle royal. It's nothing against your skills, Geise; the very opposite in fact. See, these battle royals oft rely more on luck than anything else- being in the right place at the right time. Hell, someone as low on the totem as Rod Cage has the chance to come out of nowhere and gain a title shot in this kind of setup. And nobody wants to see the champion defending in a throwaway match. The truth is, I'm just naturally better in multi-person arenas. Whether it was hunting for food in the Amazons, helping with the tent and animals during my Carny days, or facing a bunch of guys twice my size in the ring; I have always had a knack for pouncing when my back is touching the wall. And that is very much the case this week, dear friend.
I've lost my title. The one- main- reason I signed to the division in the first place. I have the entirety of the roster gunning for me, because they know I'm the odds-on favorite. And I have you, the only other name that matters, gunning for the same spot that I'm trying to get back.
In all truth, this is likely the closest I'll get on the 201 roster to being the bloodthirsty Xtreme Aerialist of old. This will take all my blood, sweat and determination to outlast the boys and girls in the back… but I will be damned if anyone else, yourself included, manages a victory over me this week. I did not come to the 201 Roster to play pattycake with the riff raff. I came down here to party with the crew who knows how to make this sport exhilarating. I came to 201 to dominate, and that is exactly what I will do at Clash.
As for the rest of you…
Spicy, I look forward to finally meeting you in the ring.
ASU, I already have your numbers.
Ladies, I take no joy in injuring you.
The rest of you pretenders… just try not to get too close. I want to end your title dreams, not your careers.
