FU Corp Offices
(Luke Force and Apex Onyx are in the media conference room of the London offices of F U Corp. Luke and Apex are comparing thoughts about this week’s opponents. Luke is wearing a black suit with a black t-shirt and Bruno Magli shoes. Apex is wearing a pink Kangol bucket hat, and a blue suede Nautica track suit. He is rocking light blue suede Nike Air Force Maxx shoes, don’t step on them.)
Luke Force: Here’s what I know about Kennedy Matthews. She has PGS, Pretty Girl Syndrome She thinks the world owes her something. What has she done to even deserve this shot at the number one contender spot, nothing. Oh wait, she beat Lockjaw.
APEX ONYX: Who?
LUKE FORCE: Exactly. Then she comes out last week and drops one to Monster. I’ve worked with her before, she’s lazy. She loves being a wrestler, she just hates to put work in it takes to be a successful one. She has a great look, and just enough skill to provide glimpses of greatness. But they are just glimpses, she’s all show and there is no substance behind it. She is someone who is always plotting her next move outside the ring, but fails to pay attention to details inside the ring. Her whole thing attacking Anton Chase…
APEX ONYX: Who?
LUKE FORCE: Exactly. I’m all for kicking ass whenever and however. But do it when someone cares. Nobody, including Anton Chase cares that you attacked him a few weeks ago. And the reason is, you dropped the ball last week, and you're going to get dropped this week. You're best when you're on Twitter, or posting some vignette online. But when it comes to the day to day work, both in and out of the ring, that it takes to be a professional wrestler, you don’t have it. Now look, maybe you can find it. And maybe the ass kicking you get this week will help motivate you to find it. But its not easy Princess, and this ain’t no fairy tale. I get it, it’s fun being a wrestler. Hanging out in locker rooms, getting to be on TV, having a captive audience. Kennedy, for someone like you, and by like you, I mean self-centered bitch, all that stuff is cool. But what about the hanging in gyms, being on a strict regimen, having to earn your right to get in the ring, that’s the stuff you aren’t cut out for Kennedy. This man sitting right here (he slaps Apex on the shoulder) This beast sitting in front of me does everything you do, and more. He can give an interview, and talk to fans. But he can also spend 3 hours finding a gym in some city he’s in, and then another 4 hours working out. All before running a 30-minute match. You simply can’t do what he does, because you don’t do what he does.
(Luke gets up and walks behind Onyx. Luke can be seen out of focus in the background now, although it out of focus the qp logo is still there.)
APEX ONYX: Evander Cage, Kennedy Matthews, neither of you have much control over what happens to you at Turmoil. Spoiler alert, you both lose. But there is something you do control. You actually have control over what this match means to me. Here’s what I mean. 3 or 4 months down the road, is the fact that I beat Evander Cage and Kennedy Matthews going to mean anything, or is going to have the same worth as being say…Lockjaw? The question is, what are you two going to do after your PPV loss? Are you going to pack your bags and head to what you think are greener pastures? Try and start over fresh. Kennedy, you know about that. Or maybe you just hang it up all together. Cage, you go back to Australia and throw shrimp on the barbie. And Kennedy, you go back to London and do whatever uneducated, untalented hacks do.
(Apex pauses to let that sink in a little.)
APEX ONYX: Or you could take the ass kicking and turn into something positive. For instance, Kennedy maybe the ass kicking I put on you causes you to actually try in the future. Cage, maybe you take the ass kicking and remember how to win again. And to be clear, being the co-Lone Survivor, in a Lone Survivor match is just like tying for first loser. Not impressed, because it’s not impressive. I have seen nothing from either one of you that impresses me. And let’s be honest, everything I have done here in Action Wrestling has been impressive. I simply don’t lose. But please, don’t take my word for it. Ask Bishop, ask Rose, ask Lester Parrish.
(Apex now stands up and begins pacing)
The fact is, the two of you could not be any more different than me. Kennedy, I’m a bad ass son of a bitch who is a professional wrestler. You're just a bitch with a bad ass who pretends to be a professional wrestler. Evander, I’m a man who gives 110% every time out, and wrestlers and fans are afraid of me. I’m afraid you're just a fan of wrestling who will never be anywhere 100%.
(Apex has stopped pacing and Luke has moved up to wear is behind and to the left of Apex.)
I know each of you have big dreams for this PPV. Kennedy, this is your shot to prove the bosses that you’re worth something. Evander, this is your shot to prove you're not worthless. Just remember, no matter how lofty your goals, or how high up the ladder you may climb. The simple fact is; you will always end up below the Apex, always.
(The screen fades to black and the Onyx Apex logo appears on screen)
