L Verez: I believe another adventure through the Universe of my mind is in order.
Just like that, my Holo is able to broadcast images of memories around me. 3D esque mosaics of Roy Speede and his triumphs, all in my perspective. Watching him become the first ever Action Wrestling World Championship. Before I even stepped foot into the Action ring.
No one could have predicted this. No one ever pictured me facing the likes of Roy Speede. First ever Action Wrestling World Champion. First ever two time Action Wrestling World Champion.
The broadcast shifts over to Roy's feud against Wade. I was eyeing closely, shocked to see Roy defeat Wade to become champion once more.
This isn't just any mere being in an average wrestling promotion. This man is one of the cornerstones of a top, world renown federation. A consistent, top tier competitor, and one of the brightest stars in the business today. How was I fortunate enough to finally earn a match with the face of Action Wrestling?
There is now a crowd around me. Showing an immense amount of people in multiple arenas, and even stadiums.
It is because of all of you. The Action Wrestling Universe chose me, of all people, to be the eighth and final competitor to view for the Turmoil Wrestler of the Year tournament. I cannot begin to tell you all how grateful I am too all of you for your tremendous support, and your faith in me to win this vital tournament. The only way I can pay you all back is by defeating, not just Roy Speede, but everyone else in this tournament. I have to be the best. Not just for myself, not just for the sake of this company, but for each person that believed in me. For every person that l knows the effort I put to keep this planet safe, and to entertain all of you as well. I want to be that role model that everyone can look up to. Whether that be as a top class fighter, or as the ultimate underdog, I always put my body on the line, and give every ounce of my being to fight. That is what I do to send a message to everyone that, no matter your size, your identity, or even your species, you can achieve success, and you can break barriers, no matter what others think of your surface, or of your core.
I am not the favorite going into this tournament. I'm most definitely not the favorite going into this match either. At least, not to those in the roster. Ever since I stepped into Action Wrestling, I've been more of an underdog than ever before. I've had immense struggles that have led to a losing streak, and later on, a mental disorder that piled over top of the load I was already struggling to carry. None of that has stopped me, however, from continuing to fight, and eventually go on to qualify for matches like the UCI Unification match at Evolution, and the All In match at Uprising. Sadly, I did not come out the victor in either of those matches, but now I have my ultimate opportunity. Not only is this a chance to prove that I belong among the best of the best in Action, but this is my chance to prove that I am the best in Action Wrestling, presently. This is what I've been waiting to do, and that starts with Roy Speede himself.
I manipulate the Holo broadcast to show the September 24th episode of Monday Night Clash.
This match could have already happened once before. When Roy still held the Action Wrestling World Championship high, I challenged him to a non title match. I didn't want to take the championship from him. I just wanted to prove that I was worthy of being among the top tier competitors within this company. However, the match never came to be. Roy Speede didn't accept my challenge. He didn't even bother to make his presence known, or to at least explain why he didn't want to accept my challenge. Such a successful and proud champion should be able to defeat a lower competitor with ease, correct? Maybe I wasn't worth his time. Maybe, in his eyes, I'm not good enough. Maybe… maybe he was fearful. I don't have the best record in Action Wrestling, and I have not yet won a championship in AW either. Lockhart and I are the only ones in this tournament that haven't yet, but he's the All In winner. My biggest claims are being the leader of the Guardians and defeating Corey Black twice in a row. With the current state of the Guardians, and the fact that Corey Black's legacy is withering, it seems clear that I'm not the biggest prize fighter in this tournament.
The Holo phases to the career of Roy Speede. Continuously, it shifts from each of his achievements, as well as his downfalls.
Some may say Roy is the most successful competitor in Action Wrestling. He is the first world champion, and the only one to win the gold twice. However, with astronomical highs come devastating lows. Roy Speed's first reign was impressive. He fought in a similar tournament to determine the Inaugural Action Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion. He scratched and clawed until, finally, he went toe to toe with his friend, Donald Deruty, defeated him, and achieved what no other could. No one else could ever say they became the first ever AW Champion. The second one, though, is just as important in Roy's story, for that very same person he defeated to become champion turned on him and became the second ever Action Wrestling World Champion at Battlefield. That wouldn't last too long for “D-Day,” as he would very soon lose his championship to Spencer Adams at Clash10… but would Roy Speede put his grievances aside and try to fight to become champion once more? No. He let vengeance get the best of him. He had to face Donald one more time. It was Wade Moor that went on to win Havoc Rumble, and would go on to face Spencer for the championship at Evolution, while Speede faces his former friend once more in a grudge match earlier that same night.
Roy let his golden opportunity slip because of a grudge. He couldn't be the bigger man and let things go. This brings me to some… troubleshooting that I've had to deal with when it comes to the decision making from the higher ups. At Pandemic Wade Moor pinned Ryan Lockhart for Spencer Adam’s championship. He proved to be a fighting champion. Suddenly, Torture wants to make a big announcement. A new competitor for Wade Moor to face. This person gets to skip any sort of qualifying match, or tournament. He automatically is given an opportunity to face Wade Moor for the World Heavyweight Championship. That man is none other than Roy Speede. What happens when Roy Speede is given this grand opportunity against Wade Moor? He loses. So now one would assume that Roy Speede now has to go to the back of the line and start from the beginning… except he doesn't. Instead, Torture decides to give Roy a rematch against Wade. No qualifying match. No non title match, he just instantly gets another opportunity at the title. Why? Because Roy was the first, and now gets special treatment. Opportunities must be earned, not given. That is why, when I challenged him, I specifically said non title.
Now we switch over to when Roy and Wade faced once more at Execution.
This brings me to your last bout against Wade. Personally, I didn't expect him to lose. He had proven to be, in my opinion, the strongest World Champion in Action Wrestling history thus far, my gripes toward him aside. You proved me wrong though, Roy. You defeated him. You made history once again. It came at a cost though, didn't it? Wade showed his true colors. He assaulted you with vicious intent, and he didn't stop there. He had his reasons. He had similar issues with the powers that be that I had. Wade just went about things much more… directly. He even attacked Torture himself. I'm unsure of how close you were with Wade, but that was the second person to turn on you. I know how that is… he turned on me as well. Someone that I thought was a close friend, fooled me, not once, but twice. I remain focused on my task, however. This tournament is much more important to me than vengeance. Whether or not I face Wade in this tournament is not my concern. My concern is proving that I am the best in that squared circle, and I will face anyone and everyone to prove that. If I face Wade, then so be it. If not… so be it.
I switch the feed over once more to Speede's match at Carnage against Sidney J. Warwick.
I'm not sure if I can say the same for you, however, Roy. I have a sneaking suspicion that history is beginning to repeat itself. You recently lost your championship to Sidney Warwick. Admittedly, your second title reign pales in comparison to your first. However, I assume it isn't Sidney on your mind, is it?
The dark ocean blue eyes of Wade Moor floods the broadcast, with his dreadlocks splashing through like tidal waves.
It's the man that stabbed you in the back. The man that attempted to end your career. When we face, will your mind be on defeated me, or will it be more towards vengeance? Will you overcome the anger, or will you succumb to your darkness? You and I, Roy, we have more in common than you think. You may have had more success than me, but I assure you, we have that same sense of pride, and we both have the drive and determination to be the best, and to do so with the people on our side. My question to you, Speede, is if you are as strong today as you were when you scratched and clawed through that tournament. Would you have been able to face Wade if you had to qualify for your title match, especially the second time? Are you capable of going through this tournament without your anger and need for vengeance overtaking you? I'm doubtful, because you have to face me. You have to have the Universal Guardian that's on a rise that cannot be stopped. I will not allow you to short circuit my path to becoming the best, not just in Action Wrestling, but the very best in professional wrestling today! I've gone through countless obstacles to get here. This fight will not end with me staring at the lights. This entire tournament will end with me standing tall, and proving every single person that I am the 2018 Wrestler of the Year, and you can count on it!
One last time, I shift the broadcast to a hopeful future of me standing tall over Roy Speede, before the feed fades to black.

We originally were forced to retreat from the area after an ambush, but we're not sure what from. Since then, I was able to defeat Corey Black for the third, and hopefully final time. On Earth, my next task is huge. A tournament to determine who the best truly is. Roy Speede, former two time Action Wrestling champion, is my first opponent. A similarity to my mission there and my mission in Andromeda is that I will not know who my next opponent is, if I surpass my first task. Which brings me to said mission. We’ve returned to the area we were previously sent to, this time, with more defenses. Polonium and I are surrounded by unknown beings, creatures… I'm not exactly sure, honestly. The bright colors are almost blinding. Nothing is actually happening, however. We're just surrounded by color. Arvus and I put on our goggles to help us see without any issues.
Polonium: NONE OF THE OBJECTS SURROUNDING US GIVE ANY SIGNS OF SENTIENCE. ALTHOUGH, EVEN WITHOUT THE USE OF THE HOLO, I SENSE DANGER NEARBY.
Arvus: Ahh.. so it's not just me then.
L Verez: Let's focus, Arvus. The more time we consume, the more danger the Crotias could be in. This is where they believe the source of the attacks are located, so we must tread lightly.
A sudden sound is heard, but it’s quite faint. Almost as if something, or someone, is on the run. We each stop and silence ourselves, although I can imagine Polonium is having trouble being a large, heavily equipped machine attempting to not make any noise. The noise is heard again and again, each time less faint than the last.
~WHOOSH~
*CRASH
CRASH*
That… escalated very quickly. The movement was coming from a camouflaged, chromatic looking creature of some sort. Arvus attempted to shoot it with his sniper, but it was too fast. Luckily, Polonium was quick enough to turn his arms into a dome shield, protecting us from the being charging at us.
Polonium: SCANNING… THE BEING IS STILL NEARBY. SHALL I KEEP MY SHIELD ACTIVATED, PROTECTOR?
L Verez: No. Lower them. I have an idea.
Polonium: AS YOU WISH, PROTECTOR.
I sit cross-legged as Polonium lowers his shield. The expression on Arvus’ face is expected.
Arvus: What the hell are you doing!? Do you have a death wish!?
L Verez: Positive vibes, Arvus. I have a plan.
I hear the faint movements again. I try to read and calculate the timing of each sound. Every clank, every shift, and every rush.
~WHOOSH--- REEEEEEEEE<<<
Arvus: What the…?
I flash my goggles with a heavy UV Ray, and blast a sonic wave at it. The clanking seems to be coming from its vocal cords. However… it's rather difficult to tell what it looks like. At first, it looked sort of raptor like, but with arachnid-esque features. Now, it seems to be…
Arvus: Shapeshifting. Great. Like we haven't dealt with enough of that already.
L Verez: You're telling me… wait…
Arvus: Wow. Nice hair.
It shapeshifts into a chromatic outline of… Roy Speede? How is it doing this?
*BLAAAST*
Polonium: THE BEING LOOKS TO BE ABLE TO SENSE THE MAIN THREAT, ASIDE FROM ITSELF, THAT YOU HAVE LOCKED ONTO IN YOUR BRAIN. FROM WHAT THE HOLO IS ABLE TO TELL ME, IT IS DOING THIS AS A MIND GAME TO BOTH PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY FORCE YOU INTO SURRENDER.
Arvus: You travel the Universe. It could shape into anything that you view as a current threat. This… should be fun.
For some reason, I struggle to keep my sonic wave and UV Ray powered up. It's… resisting, someho-- AAAGGGHHH!!
L Verez: AAAGGGHHH!!
*CRASH CRASH*
It got hold of my head, somehow… it's as if I have a migraine now. Fortunately, Arvus was able to free me from it, with a very straightforward strategy. Many Earthings call this strategy “tackling.”
Arvus: Come on, L, get up! There's no telling what this thing will do next-- GAHH!!!
*CRASH*
Well, now I'm flabbergasted. This thing somehow managed to jump off of Polonium, and hit Arvus with a sort of 450 splash, with a lot of impact.
Polonium: THIS CREATURE SEEMS TO BE MIMICKING ROY SPEEDE'S ATTACKS WITH MORE AGILITY AND STRENGTH.
L Verez: I can sense this…
The battle wages on. I never thought I'd be in a wrestling match outside of planet Earth. This area changes the situation quite dramatically, however. The spherical lights on the walls and ceiling act almost like bouncy balls. Polonium tries to extend his arms to attack it, but it's too fast. Arvus has the same issue, trying to snipe it from a distance, but he can't get a clear shot without me possibly being a casualty. It's up to me, although I do use Polonium and the environment to my advantage. The Speede being uses the bright orbs, bouncing off of them to hit similar moves to the human Speede. Big knee drops and moonsaults that I could barely avoid. It's the striking that overwhelms me, hitting me with a stiff clothesline at one point. Polonium shoots at it with his lasers out of his cycloptic eye, but it swiftly evades each blast. Finally, after it attempts Roy's “Speede Bump” shooting star, I'm able to evade it, catch it with a drop toe hold, and lock in Finite.
*BLAST BLAAAST--- WHOOOOSH~
L Verez: Uuugh… what the…?
Polonium hit it with his laser, Arvus shooting it soon after. This caused it to shapeshift frantically until it… exploded? I'm unsure, but the blast forced me all the way to one of the spheres, bouncing me off to the floor.
Arvus: That… I don't like that.
L Verez: This isn't over yet. Let's go back to the ship and recover, before more of them come at us.
To be continued…
