There was the shot of the famous ‘Rocky’ statue that sat at the bottom of the stairs to the Museum of Art, quietly observing a few excited tourists coming to pose with said statue before dispersing, most likely going up the stairs found in the movie. After another minute more, Niobe walked onto the screen and took a look up at the statue for a second before walking just off to the side and sitting on the ground, clasping her hands in her lap. Her face was calm as she bit her lip, trying to figure out how to start this without just screaming throughout the whole thing. Needless to say, losing to The Sitcom last week was still a point of hurt for her. Finally, she looked up at the camera.
”Yeah it hurts, sitting here and not having the Television Championship in my lap to show off to you all. I went into that with everything that I had, as I do every match. I knew I had to throw everything at Sitcom to even stand a chance of toppling that giant oaf, even teaming up with Aoi to do it. Sadly, someone who shall remain unnamed decided to stick their nose in business that wasn’t really their’s to begin with and drag me out of the ring by my legs so I couldn’t break up the pin. It’s bullshit, but I gotta move on and keep going. There will be consequences in the future, you can believe that definitely for sure…”
Niobe nodded slowly, looking off to the side and watching the tourists walk up to the statue and take a picture before walking off, probably going to head up the stairs and take a pic at the top while getting a great view of part of the city for sure. She watched for a bit, then looked away. Maybe after this, she would descend the stairs herself.
”So I know people will talk after that, and they usually do. Yet another opportunity that slipped through my fingers like sand. It didn’t slip through my fingers, it was torn in a way from me. This one was at least. This little blip just gives me something to learn from, watch my back, and continue on doing what I do best out there. You can’t keep me down and keep me from coming back like a really bad dream. They don’t call me the ‘Living Nightmare’ for nothing.
I could go on and on about what happened last week, and it would take up this entire chunk of time, but that’s not what this little moment is about.
Off topic, but man this weather is great today. No rain, a little bit of a breeze, and plenty of sunshine out today. If it wouldn’t look really silly, I’d lay back here on the concrete and enjoy the sun for a while.”
She chuckled, unclasping her hands from her lap, running a hand down her face with a sigh.
”This little tale comes back to this week’s Clash and my opponent for the night, Chase Jackson. Goodness it has been a few months since I’ve seen you hasn’t it? The last time we were in a ring together was back in February in that television title match. We’d both won our respective play-in matches, and with a little bit of a push you managed to walk out with that win and the title. Well done.
You lost it to FPV a few weeks later, but…well done none the less.
What else have YOU been up to this entire time? Hmm let’s see…”[/font
She taps her finger on her chin, thinking deeply for a minute.
”Not a darn thing. You’ve had a couple of close calls, but that’s about it. Nothing really worth talking about here. It’s sad, really because I expected more out of you Chase. I expected you to have risen up and bring honor to your family or whatever, but all you’ve done is gotten knocked flat on your ass ever since losing that title. Of course I’m no saint either and I know you’ll have fun dragging all that through the mud.
This night isn’t about me, it’s about you and what’s going to happen out there to you.
You are going to get in there with me and I’m going to put you out of your misery. You can fight and push forward all you want but it’s not going to be enough, just like always Chase. You’ll fight and then you’ll fall like a stack of bricks. Think of this though. The lasting image you’ll get of me is having my hand raised in victory and walking off, knowing that I brought some semblance of peace to my tarnished battle last week. I’ll walk away from you knowing that I’m one step closer to something great.
So the clock is ticking until you fall Chase.
Tick…tock…
The Living Nightmare is coming for you.”
