Ok so, first of all since that was a terrible thread title that will likely make many of you freak out and think we're taking a break, WE ARE NOT.
But this thread is about breaks. If you may have noticed, we typically have around 15 matches per show. Some weeks it's as low as 12, and some weeks we've had 18 matches. Part of this is due to the huge roster we have (50+) and part of it is because we try and stay away from clusterfucks.
There's also an issue with the fact that me and Tort tend to combined write nearly all the matches, minus the occasional match or two and every once in a while three being written by some of our awesome writers on here. On occasion, Tort will give a character or two the week off, but we've found that not everyone likes having the week off.
So we wanted to approach the idea of asking if there's anyone on the roster that would be ok with the occasional week off? For example, if we have a 4 week month. Three Clashes and a PPV, the person with the occasional break would have the first or second week off, but never the PPV or the go home show, especially if you're someone who is in a storyline, feud, or someone with a title.
If you do take the week off, you'd still be able to do a segment on the show and if you were in the middle of a feud or wanted to start one, you could still request that you attack a specific person (but we can't always say yes to attacks, depends on the person and what they're up to in the AW universe currently).
Taking the occasional break will help with keeping people from getting burned out plus it helps us with the sheer number of matches we have to book each week as well. If you decide not to post here saying you want the occasional week off, that's fine, no biggie. But if you're down with that, then either respond here that you're cool with it or PM me and Tort.
Also, since this is relevant, I'll again say that we could use more help from the fed in writing matches. If only 5 or so people volunteered each week to write a match which usually takes me or Tort around 30 minutes, it would be a tremendous help. I doubt there's that many feds who have one or two guys writing 8 matches per week each. We would prefer to keep them at the length that they currently are at and not have to go shorter.
