The fire in Nixon High behind them starts to die down. The roaring warm colors of the fire intermix with the constantly switc
Kitsumi is sitting on a stretcher, holding her body close. Roddy stands beside her, a hand on her right shoulder. Doc plays damage control behind them, giving the police officers the planned, bulletproof alibi.
No cameras to catch anyone in the act because they were all mysteriously wiped.
They were just there to pick-up Kitsumi from the school as Noriko and Roddy had planned. The texts are on her phone that was somehow unrecoverable in the damage of the blast.
What alibis the other surviving five have are of no concern of theirs.
Even if Doc’s constant guilty looks is causing the pit in Roddy’s gut to fester.
Emotions.
Disgusting.
“So…is it everything you ever wanted?”
Kitsumi doesn’t respond. She stares at the ashy grass below them.
Roddy nods, understanding the silent answer.
“You’ve got your wish. Your mother is no more. Hey, you even have the added bonus of your most persistent rival going up in flames too.”
“Roddy…”
“Nah, they’re both probably rotting in hell where they belong.”
“Rod.”
The warning in her words causes him to narrow his eyes.
“Oh no, you’re not just gonna wave this one off, Kit.”
“Nope. You can change your face and personality to hide how you really feel, but we both know this memory and this feeling won’t be going away anytime soon. You’ve got your Dad and his mistress to look out for, not to mention the Dean and your Keeper still looming in the background. Shit, I bet those two remaining villainesses would love some revenge for their dead friend. Oh yeah, plus there’s Aisuru—”
A single spotlight shines on a completely dark abyss of nothingness. All that can be seen is a hunched over Kitsumi, her eyes wide but otherwise blank. Her mouth has her sinister smile in place, but the emptiness in it all is clear to see.
“Regrets and mistakes are easily made by the less than willing. Unfortunately, I am capable of moving past my regrets and mistakes.
Because everything I do is for a purpose.
Pinning both of the last two Cruiserweight Champions was for a purpose.
Allying myself with Rod and Doc was for a purpose.
Entering this match with full momentum by our side was for a purpose.
Because while Andre Jensen was on the shelf watching from the sidelines, the Rulers of Our Kind dominated against every single opponent we went up against. The top talent of CruiserClash stood no chance to the two of us and our alliance, and now it’s led us straight to the stalwarts of the Cruiserweights.
The jokers of the juniors.
Arguably the best tag team in CruiserClash history.
But the best thing about history is that it can be twisted and viewed from a different angle.
For all the hoopla this Tag Team is given, let us not forget they have lost their titles more times than anybody in CruiserClash history. It’s an impressive feat to be forced into the slot to win the titles, but it's increasingly less impressive when your times between winning them and losing them decreases.
So if the Two Gents are the best tag team in CruiserClash history, than it’s no surprise that this show is susceptible to new management.
I’m not disappointed. That would imply I had any strong feelings of hope towards them.
No.
The Two Gents need guidance, now more than ever. And lucky for you two, there are a pair young and hungry talent who will do whatever it takes to either of them in order to claim what will be their first step towards ruling this show.
And then this company.
Because there are no rulers as dominant and united…as the Rulers of Our Kind.”
“Kitsumi!” His voice cracks through the darkness.
“That the kid?”
“Kitsumi!” He shouts again.
Roddy notices the smile on her face grow. He sighs and steps back.
“We’ll talk later. I’ll leave you to…Him.”
